Which artificial intelligence companies sponsor Green Card visas in Oregon?
Intel is the most active Green Card sponsor in Oregon, regularly filing PERM labor certifications for AI and machine learning roles at its Hillsboro campuses. Nike's technology division in Beaverton, Daimler Trucks North America, and a cluster of Portland-based AI startups also have documented sponsorship histories. University employers like Oregon State University and Oregon Health and Science University sponsor Green Cards for AI researchers in academic and applied research roles.
Which cities in Oregon have the most artificial intelligence Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Portland and its western suburbs, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the majority of AI Green Card sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by Intel's large semiconductor and AI research workforce. Corvallis is a secondary hub, anchored by Oregon State University and nearby tech employers. Eugene sees some activity through the University of Oregon and smaller tech firms, though volume is considerably lower than the Portland metro.
What types of artificial intelligence roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that regularly qualify include machine learning engineer, data scientist, AI research scientist, natural language processing engineer, computer vision specialist, and AI infrastructure engineer. These positions generally require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a closely related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Senior individual contributor and research roles are sponsored most frequently, as employers can more readily demonstrate that the position requires a specific advanced degree.
How do I find artificial intelligence Green Card sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for AI roles with Green Card sponsorship history in Oregon, surfacing employers whose PERM and I-140 filing patterns confirm active sponsorship programs. This is more reliable than guessing from general job postings, which rarely specify whether a company will pursue permanent residence. Searching by city within Oregon on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to Portland, Hillsboro, or Beaverton where sponsorship volume is highest.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in artificial intelligence?
Oregon does not have a state-level immigration program, so all Green Card sponsorship follows federal PERM and I-140 processes regardless of location. However, Oregon's relatively concentrated AI employer base means many sponsorship opportunities are tied to a handful of large companies like Intel. Candidates from countries with per-country EB-2 and EB-3 backlogs, particularly India and China, should research priority date wait times through USCIS before accepting a role, as timelines vary significantly by nationality and preference category.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card artificial intelligence jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
