Which electronics companies in Oregon sponsor Green Card visas?
Intel is the most prominent electronics Green Card sponsor in Oregon, with significant operations in Hillsboro where it regularly files EB-2 and EB-3 petitions. Other active sponsors include Lattice Semiconductor, Digi International, and Planar Systems. Larger contract manufacturers and hardware-focused subsidiaries of national tech companies operating in the Portland metro area also have established sponsorship programs for qualified engineers and technical staff.
Which cities in Oregon have the most electronics Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Hillsboro is the center of Oregon's electronics sponsorship activity, driven largely by Intel's campus and the broader Washington County semiconductor corridor. Portland follows closely, hosting hardware design firms, electronics manufacturers, and technology companies with active sponsorship histories. Beaverton and Tualatin also have meaningful concentrations of electronics employers. Outside the metro area, Corvallis has electronics activity tied to its engineering and research community.
What electronics roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that regularly appear in Green Card sponsorship filings include semiconductor process engineers, hardware design engineers, FPGA engineers, embedded systems engineers, electrical engineers, and PCB layout designers. Positions requiring specialized knowledge in chip architecture, RF engineering, or power electronics tend to qualify under EB-2 due to advanced degree requirements. EB-3 sponsorship is more common for roles where a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field is the stated minimum.
How do I find electronics Green Card sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for electronics roles in Oregon where employers have confirmed Green Card sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to filtering general job boards manually. On Migrate Mate, you can narrow by the Electronics and Hardware industry category alongside Oregon as your location and Green Card as your sponsorship requirement, surfacing relevant openings from companies with verified sponsorship histories.
Are there Oregon-specific factors that affect Green Card sponsorship in electronics?
Oregon's concentration of semiconductor and hardware companies means EB-2 and EB-3 filings are relatively common in the state, particularly in Washington County. However, Oregon does not have a state-level immigration program, so all Green Card sponsorship follows standard federal PERM labor certification requirements. The competitiveness of the local engineering labor market can influence how quickly employers complete prevailing wage determinations and PERM recruitment steps, which vary case by case.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card electronics jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
