Tips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Oregon
Target Oregon's semiconductor employers directly
Intel's Hillsboro campus is one of the largest Green Card sponsors in the Pacific Northwest. Research their engineering and R&D divisions specifically, as these teams file the most PERM labor certifications annually and actively recruit internationally qualified candidates.
Look beyond Portland to the Willamette Valley
Corvallis and Salem host research institutions, agricultural technology firms, and state agencies that sponsor Green Cards in life sciences and engineering. Fewer applicants compete for these roles than for positions in Portland, which can improve your odds of advancing.
Prioritize employers with established immigration infrastructure
Large Oregon employers like Nike, Daimler Trucks North America, and OHSU have dedicated HR immigration teams. These organizations understand PERM timelines and are more likely to commit to the multi-year sponsorship process than smaller companies encountering it for the first time.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for Green Card-specific openings
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings by visa type so you can focus on Oregon employers already sponsoring Green Cards, rather than guessing which companies are open to it. This saves significant time during your search.
Understand Oregon's PERM-heavy industries before applying
Software engineering, electrical engineering, and clinical healthcare roles account for the majority of Oregon PERM filings. If your background aligns with these fields, tailor your resume to the specific degree and experience requirements employers list in their labor certification job descriptions.
Engage Oregon's professional associations during your search
Organizations like the Oregon Bio industry association and the Technology Association of Oregon host networking events where hiring managers discuss sponsorship policies openly. Attending these builds direct employer relationships that job boards alone cannot replicate.

Which industries in Oregon sponsor the most Green Card visas?
Semiconductor manufacturing, software development, and healthcare sponsor the highest volume of Green Cards in Oregon. Intel's operations in Hillsboro drive substantial PERM filings in electrical and computer engineering. Portland's hospital systems, including OHSU and Providence Health, sponsor regularly in nursing and specialized clinical roles. Agricultural technology and forestry research add smaller but consistent sponsorship activity in the Willamette Valley.
Which cities in Oregon have the most Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro area, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the vast majority of Green Card sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's Hillsboro campus alone generates a significant share of the state's PERM filings. Corvallis, home to Oregon State University and several biotech firms, is the next most active market, followed by Eugene and Salem.
What types of roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or professional field qualify most consistently. Software engineers, semiconductor process engineers, data scientists, registered nurses, and physical therapists represent common sponsored categories in Oregon. How do I find Green Card sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type, so you can search specifically for Oregon employers sponsoring Green Cards rather than sorting through postings that offer no work authorization support. Beyond job boards, reviewing OFLC disclosure data at flag.dol.gov shows which Oregon employers have filed PERM applications recently, giving you a verified list of active sponsors to target directly.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
