Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Oregon?
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Providence Health & Services, Legacy Health, PeaceHealth, and Adventist Health are among the Oregon healthcare employers with documented histories of sponsoring permanent residency. Large hospital systems and academic medical centers are the most active sponsors because they have dedicated HR and legal infrastructure to manage the multi-year PERM labor certification and immigrant visa petition process.
Which cities in Oregon have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Portland is the clear center of healthcare Green Card sponsorship in Oregon, home to OHSU, Legacy Health, and Providence's regional headquarters. Salem and Eugene each have regional hospital systems with sponsorship capacity. Bend has seen healthcare employment growth through St. Charles Health System. Rural Oregon has persistent physician shortages, which sometimes leads smaller facilities to sponsor foreign-trained doctors through the EB-2 National Interest Waiver pathway.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Oregon?
Physicians, surgeons, and specialists are the most commonly sponsored roles, often through EB-1B or EB-2 categories. Registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical laboratory scientists frequently qualify under EB-3. Roles requiring a specific U.S.-equivalent degree and professional licensure tend to qualify most reliably. Research scientists at institutions like OHSU may also qualify for EB-1B or EB-2 NIW based on their published work and research impact.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters healthcare roles in Oregon by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card. Rather than sorting through general job postings where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsoring employers in Oregon's healthcare sector. This is particularly useful for clinical and allied health professionals who need to confirm an employer's willingness to initiate the PERM process before applying.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship?
Oregon requires healthcare professionals to hold valid state licensure, and the Oregon Medical Board and Oregon State Board of Nursing each have their own credentialing timelines for internationally trained applicants. Employers initiating PERM labor certification need the worker to hold the required Oregon license before the process completes. Candidates should begin Oregon licensure applications early, as processing can take several months and may affect the overall Green Card sponsorship timeline.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
