Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Montana?
The largest Green Card sponsors in Montana's healthcare sector include Billings Clinic, Intermountain Health (formerly SCL Health), Providence St. Patrick Hospital, and Benefis Health System in Great Falls. Critical Access Hospitals across rural Montana also sponsor permanent residency, particularly for physicians and advanced practice providers, because these facilities qualify for federal shortage-area designations that strengthen certain Green Card petitions.
Which cities in Montana have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Billings is Montana's largest city and its healthcare employment hub, with Billings Clinic operating one of the region's largest multispecialty systems. Missoula follows closely, anchored by Providence St. Patrick Hospital and the University of Montana's affiliated clinics. Great Falls, Bozeman, and Kalispell also have active healthcare hiring, though the volume of sponsored positions is smaller than in Billings and Missoula.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Montana?
Physicians and surgeons across most specialties are the most commonly sponsored roles, particularly in primary care, psychiatry, and hospitalist medicine where shortages are acute. Registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, and radiologic technologists also regularly qualify. Roles requiring a specific professional license and at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field generally meet the specialty occupation or schedule A eligibility standards used in employment-based Green Card petitions.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate lists healthcare positions in Montana where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship availability, letting you filter specifically by visa type and state rather than sorting through postings that don't address sponsorship at all. Because Montana's healthcare market is smaller than coastal states, new sponsored roles appear periodically rather than continuously, so checking Migrate Mate regularly and setting up relevant alerts gives you the best chance of catching openings early.
Are there state-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship in Montana?
Montana's large proportion of Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs) is a meaningful factor. Employers in these designated zones can support National Interest Waiver petitions for physicians, which allow candidates to self-petition without a specific job offer and bypass the PERM labor certification process. Additionally, Montana's Critical Access Hospitals often have greater flexibility and urgency in sponsoring foreign-trained clinicians compared to urban hospital systems.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
