Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Hawaii?
The largest sponsors of healthcare Green Cards in Hawaii include Hawaii Pacific Health, The Queen's Health Systems, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, and Adventist Health Castle. These health systems have established immigration sponsorship programs and a history of filing PERM labor certifications for physicians, nurses, and specialist roles. Smaller community health centers and long-term care facilities also sponsor Green Cards, though less frequently and typically for hard-to-fill clinical positions.
Which cities in Hawaii have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Honolulu accounts for the majority of healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Hawaii, given its concentration of major hospitals, medical centers, and specialty clinics on Oahu. Hilo and Kailua-Kona on the Big Island, as well as Kahului on Maui, also see sponsorship activity, particularly for physicians and nurses needed in underserved areas. Rural and neighbor island positions are sometimes designated as shortage areas, which can affect the EB-2 National Interest Waiver eligibility for qualifying clinicians.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Hawaii?
Physicians across most specialties, registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical laboratory scientists are among the roles most commonly sponsored for Green Cards in Hawaii. Advanced practice providers including nurse practitioners and physician assistants also qualify. These roles typically meet the specialty occupation standard and demonstrate a documented shortage, which strengthens the employer's PERM labor certification case and can sometimes support self-sponsored NIW petitions for physicians serving underserved communities.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Hawaii?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international healthcare professionals seeking Green Card sponsorship jobs in Hawaii. You can filter by visa type, industry, and state to surface employers actively hiring for sponsored roles across Honolulu, Maui, and the neighbor islands. Because sponsorship willingness is not always listed in standard job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces this information directly, saving significant research time for nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals navigating the process.
Are there state-specific factors that affect Green Card sponsorship in Hawaii's healthcare sector?
Hawaii's geographic isolation and persistent healthcare worker shortage create conditions where employers are often more motivated to sponsor Green Cards than in mainland states. Several areas across the neighbor islands carry Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) designations, which can support National Interest Waiver self-petitions for physicians without requiring employer sponsorship. Hawaii's high cost of living also means candidates should evaluate total compensation packages carefully, as relocation and housing assistance vary significantly between health systems.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Hawaii?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
