Which hospitality companies sponsor Green Card visas in Hawaii?
Large resort operators and hotel management companies account for most Green Card sponsorship activity in Hawaii's hospitality sector. Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and Four Seasons have properties across Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island with documented EB-3 sponsorship histories. Outrigger Hospitality Group, headquartered in Honolulu, is another Hawaii-based employer that has pursued permanent residency for qualified staff. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends heavily on role, tenure, and individual employer policy.
Which cities in Hawaii have the most hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Honolulu, on Oahu, concentrates the highest volume of sponsorship-eligible hospitality positions given its density of large hotels, convention facilities, and resort complexes. Maui, particularly the Wailea and Kaanapali resort corridors, is the second most active area. The Big Island's Kohala Coast, home to several luxury resorts, also generates sponsorship opportunities, though at lower volume than Honolulu and Maui.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Hawaii?
Employers most commonly pursue EB-3 sponsorship for roles requiring demonstrated skill or specialized training, including executive chefs, sous chefs, food and beverage managers, front office managers, housekeeping supervisors, and resort operations managers. Unskilled or semi-skilled positions can qualify under EB-3 as well, though the PERM labor certification process applies to all categories and requires the employer to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role.
How do I find hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs in Hawaii?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card, and by industry. You can search for hospitality roles in Hawaii directly, seeing which employers are actively sponsoring rather than cold-applying to companies with no sponsorship history. Using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually researching individual hotel and resort employers across the islands.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Hawaii's hospitality industry?
Hawaii's geographic isolation creates stronger employer incentive to retain skilled hospitality workers, which can support sponsorship decisions for high-performing employees. However, the state's high cost of living and competitive local labor market mean PERM prevailing wage determinations are closely scrutinized. Employers must document genuine recruitment efforts before filing, and Hawaii's smaller overall labor pool can affect how DOL assesses whether qualified U.S. workers are available for the sponsored position.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card hospitality jobs in Hawaii?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
