Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in Hawaii?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, operate offices in Honolulu and have documented PERM filing histories for accounting roles. Regional employers including Accuity LLP, Matson Navigation, and the University of Hawaii system also sponsor qualified candidates. Hospitality and real estate companies headquartered in Hawaii occasionally sponsor senior accounting and controller positions when they can't fill roles locally.
Which cities in Hawaii have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Honolulu accounts for the large majority of accounting Green Card sponsorship activity in Hawaii, driven by its concentration of professional services firms, financial institutions, and large hospitality corporations. Hilo and Maui see occasional openings, primarily tied to resort operators and regional government contractors. For accounting professionals pursuing PERM-sponsored roles, targeting Honolulu employers gives significantly broader options than any other part of the state.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field most commonly qualify. Senior accountants, audit managers, tax managers, controllers, and forensic accountants appear regularly in PERM filings. Positions requiring CPA licensure or specialized knowledge, such as SEC reporting, international tax, or government auditing, tend to attract sponsorship because employers face genuine difficulty finding qualified local candidates for these specific skill sets.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in Hawaii?
Migrate Mate lists accounting roles in Hawaii filtered specifically for employers with Green Card sponsorship history, so you can see which companies have active PERM filing records rather than guessing. Search by occupation and state to surface audit, tax, and controller positions at Hawaii-based employers. You can also cross-reference the OFLC Wage Search to verify prevailing wage levels for specific accounting job titles in Honolulu and other Hawaii counties before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for accounting Green Card sponsorship in Hawaii?
Hawaii's small professional services market means fewer PERM filings than mainland states, and the recruitment timeline can extend because employers must demonstrate that local recruitment efforts were exhausted before sponsoring a foreign national. Hawaii's CPA licensure requirements align with NASBA standards, but out-of-state or internationally trained accountants may need to complete additional coursework hours to meet state board requirements before qualifying for senior roles that typically attract sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in Hawaii?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
