Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in Colorado?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all have Denver offices and have historically sponsored Green Cards for experienced accounting professionals. Regional firms like Forvis Mazur and CliftonLarsonAllen also operate in Colorado and have sponsored permanent residency for qualified staff. Corporate accounting departments at Colorado-headquartered companies in energy, healthcare, and technology are additional sources of sponsorship.
Which cities in Colorado have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Denver concentrates the majority of accounting Green Card sponsorship opportunities in Colorado, driven by its large professional services sector and corporate headquarters presence. Boulder attracts accounting roles tied to technology and startup companies. Colorado Springs has a smaller but steady market, particularly in government contracting and defense-adjacent finance roles. Fort Collins and Aurora round out secondary markets worth monitoring.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Colorado?
Roles most commonly sponsored include senior auditors, tax managers, forensic accountants, financial controllers, and CPA-credentialed staff with specialized expertise. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a closely related field generally qualify under the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories. Entry-level roles are less frequently sponsored, as employers tend to reserve Green Card filings for mid-level to senior professionals with demonstrated specialized skills.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international job seekers and filters accounting roles in Colorado that include Green Card sponsorship. Because standard job boards don't reliably tag sponsorship availability, using a platform like Migrate Mate that curates visa-sponsored listings saves significant research time. Searching by the accounting category and filtering to Colorado will surface employers actively open to permanent residency sponsorship for qualified candidates.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in accounting?
Colorado requires CPAs to hold licensure through the Colorado State Board of Accountancy, and employers sponsoring Green Cards often expect candidates to be actively pursuing or already holding CPA credentials. The state's competitive Denver market means employers may favor candidates with Big Four experience or niche expertise in industries like oil and gas, cannabis accounting, or technology. Prevailing wage requirements under the PERM labor certification process apply based on the specific Colorado metro area where the role is located.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
