Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in California?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, and EY, are among the most active Green Card sponsors for accounting professionals in California, with large offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Regional firms such as Moss Adams and Grant Thornton also sponsor, as do major corporations with in-house finance and accounting teams, including technology companies headquartered in Silicon Valley.
Which cities in California have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
San Francisco and Los Angeles account for the largest share of accounting Green Card sponsorship activity in California, driven by their concentration of financial services, technology, and entertainment employers. San Jose and Silicon Valley generate strong demand from technology companies with large finance and accounting functions. San Diego and Sacramento also have active sponsoring employers, particularly in biotech and government contracting sectors.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in California?
Roles most commonly sponsored under employment-based Green Card categories in California include senior accountants, audit managers, tax managers, controllers, and finance directors. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a related field, along with CPA licensure or significant technical specialization, are more likely to meet the requirements for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship. Entry-level bookkeeping roles are rarely sponsored.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international professionals seeking visa-sponsored roles, including accounting Green Card jobs in California. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface relevant openings from employers who have a documented history of sponsoring permanent residency. This removes the guesswork of identifying which California accounting employers are actually open to Green Card candidates.
Are there California-specific considerations for accounting Green Card sponsorship?
California employers sponsoring Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process must follow Department of Labor advertising requirements, which apply nationally but are administered the same way regardless of state. One practical factor in California is the high concentration of H-1B visa workers already on the path to Green Cards, meaning some large employers have established internal sponsorship pipelines. CPA licensure from the California Board of Accountancy can strengthen a candidate's profile for EB-2 sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
