Which construction companies in Montana sponsor Green Card visas?
Montana's larger general contractors and civil construction firms are the most active Green Card sponsors in the construction sector. Companies such as Sletten Construction of Great Falls, Dick Anderson Construction based in Helena, and Langlas & Associates in Billings have sponsored workers in project management, engineering, and skilled trades roles. Federal and highway contractors operating on Montana DOT projects also commonly sponsor through the PERM labor certification process for hard-to-fill positions.
Which Montana cities have the most construction Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Billings sees the highest volume of construction sponsorship activity, driven by energy-sector infrastructure and commercial development along the I-90 corridor. Missoula and Bozeman follow closely, reflecting rapid population growth and the accompanying demand for residential and commercial construction. Great Falls and Helena, home to several established regional contractors and state government infrastructure projects, also generate consistent sponsorship opportunities for qualified construction professionals.
What types of construction roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Montana?
Roles requiring specialized credentials or a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or architecture qualify most readily under the PERM-based employment-based Green Card process. Structural engineers, civil engineers, project managers, and estimators are commonly sponsored. Certain highly skilled trades workers, particularly those with certifications in electrical systems, heavy equipment operation, or specialized pipeline construction relevant to Montana's energy industry, may also qualify depending on employer documentation of recruitment efforts.
How do I find construction Green Card sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international workers seeking visa sponsorship employment, including Green Card-sponsored construction roles in Montana. You can filter by state and visa type to surface employers with verified sponsorship history in the construction sector. Beyond Migrate Mate, reviewing PERM labor certification disclosures through OFLC and targeting Montana contractors with active federal project work can help identify employers who have sponsored construction workers before.
Are there any Montana-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in construction?
Montana's construction industry operates on a pronounced seasonal cycle, with most project activity concentrated between spring thaw and late autumn. Employers initiating PERM labor certification should account for recruitment timelines that may span slow seasons, which can affect how quickly a position is documented as difficult to fill domestically. Additionally, Montana's prevailing wage requirements on public works projects are set by the state, and PERM filings must reflect the higher of the state or federal DOL prevailing wage for the relevant occupation and county.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card construction jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
