Which construction companies sponsor Green Card visas in Nevada?
Large general contractors and construction management firms active in Nevada, including McCarthy Building Companies, Whiting-Turner Contracting, Skanska USA, and Holder Construction, have filed Green Card-related labor certifications for skilled positions. Resort and casino developers on the Las Vegas Strip also sponsor petitions for project managers and engineers overseeing major capital projects. Sponsorship typically occurs through the PERM labor certification process under the EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa categories.
Which cities in Nevada have the most construction Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas and Henderson account for the largest share of construction sponsorship activity in Nevada, driven by ongoing casino resort development, infrastructure expansion, and data center construction. Reno and Sparks have seen increased activity tied to warehouse, logistics, and renewable energy projects, including work near Tesla's Gigafactory corridor. North Las Vegas is also active due to large-scale industrial and distribution center development.
What types of construction roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Roles requiring specialized education or licensure are most commonly sponsored. Civil engineers, structural engineers, construction project managers, estimators with formal credentials, and licensed superintendents frequently qualify under EB-2 or EB-3 categories. Journeypersons in certified skilled trades may qualify under EB-3 if the employer completes the PERM process. General labor positions are rarely sponsored for Green Cards due to the employer's obligation to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available.
How do I find construction Green Card sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate lists construction jobs in Nevada where employers are open to Green Card sponsorship, letting you filter specifically by visa type and state rather than sorting through general job postings. Because Green Card sponsorship requires significant employer investment through the PERM process, targeting mid-to-large general contractors and specialty firms with active Nevada projects gives you the strongest starting point. Migrate Mate surfaces those employers directly.
Are there any Nevada-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in construction?
Nevada's prevailing wage requirements, established by the Nevada Labor Commissioner, apply to public works projects and can affect the wage floor an employer must certify on a PERM application. Employers on federally funded infrastructure projects must also comply with federal Davis-Bacon prevailing wages. Because Nevada is a right-to-work state, union membership is not required, but unionized contractors on large Strip projects sometimes have established sponsorship pathways for skilled trades through collective bargaining frameworks.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card construction jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
