Which agriculture companies in Wisconsin sponsor Green Card visas?
Several large agribusiness and food processing employers in Wisconsin have established Green Card sponsorship programs. Land O'Lakes, Foremost Farms USA, and Sargento Foods are among the dairy and food processing companies that have filed labor certifications for skilled roles. Large crop input suppliers and agricultural cooperatives operating in the state also sponsor workers, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa categories for specialized and professional positions.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most agriculture Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Madison and the surrounding Dane County area see consistent demand for agricultural scientists, agronomists, and food technologists given the presence of the University of Wisconsin research ecosystem and affiliated agribusinesses. Green Bay and Appleton are active hubs for food and dairy processing employment. The Central Sands region, including Portage and Waushara counties, generates opportunities in crop production and farm management for those seeking field-based roles with sponsoring operations.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles that commonly qualify include agronomists, agricultural engineers, food scientists, dairy herd managers, plant breeders, and precision agriculture technologists. These positions generally require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, which supports EB-2 or EB-3 petitions. Farm labor supervisor and quality assurance roles in food processing facilities may qualify under EB-3 for skilled workers. Seasonal or unskilled labor positions rarely support Green Card sponsorship through employment-based immigrant visa categories.
How do I find agriculture Green Card sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States, including agriculture Green Card jobs in Wisconsin. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface roles where employers have a documented history of sponsoring Green Cards. Using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually researching employer sponsorship histories across general job boards.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin's agriculture sector?
Wisconsin's agriculture industry is heavily concentrated in dairy, and many sponsoring employers operate under cooperative structures, which can affect how labor condition applications and PERM filings are handled compared to publicly traded corporations. Wisconsin does not have a state-level immigration program, so all Green Card sponsorship flows through federal USCIS and Department of Labor processes. Candidates should be aware that PERM labor certification for agricultural roles can be subject to additional scrutiny given the availability of domestic seasonal labor in the region.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card agriculture jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
