Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Wisconsin?
UW Health, Froedtert Health, Advocate Aurora Health, and SSM Health are among the larger Wisconsin healthcare employers with established Green Card sponsorship track records. Academic medical centers and large regional hospital networks tend to have dedicated HR and immigration teams experienced with PERM labor certification. Smaller community hospitals and rural health systems may sponsor selectively, typically for hard-to-fill clinical roles where recruitment efforts have not produced qualified U.S. workers.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and Madison account for the largest concentration of healthcare Green Card sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by major hospital systems, academic medical centers, and specialty clinics. Green Bay, Appleton, and Racine also have notable healthcare employment bases. Rural areas across northern and central Wisconsin frequently face physician and nursing shortages, which can translate into Green Card sponsorship opportunities, particularly for primary care and family medicine roles.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Physicians, surgeons, and specialized practitioners are the most commonly sponsored roles, followed by registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and pharmacists. Medical research scientists affiliated with institutions like the University of Wisconsin-Madison may pursue EB-1 or EB-2 NIW pathways. Allied health positions requiring licensure and specialized training, such as radiologic technologists and speech-language pathologists, also appear in Green Card sponsorship filings, particularly at larger hospital systems with active international recruitment programs.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters healthcare roles in Wisconsin by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card. Rather than sorting through general job postings that rarely disclose immigration support, Migrate Mate surfaces employers actively sponsoring Green Cards in the healthcare sector. You can narrow results by location, role type, and visa category to focus on Wisconsin-based opportunities that match your clinical background and immigration eligibility.
Are there any state-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin requires state licensure for most clinical roles, and employers typically need to verify that international candidates can obtain or transfer their credentials before initiating PERM labor certification. Physicians working in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas in rural Wisconsin may be eligible for the Conrad 30 J-1 waiver program, which can serve as a pathway toward permanent residence. Wisconsin participates in the Conrad 30 program, and positions secured through it often lead to employer-sponsored Green Card petitions after the service commitment is fulfilled.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
