Which biotech & pharma companies sponsor Green Card visas in Wisconsin?
Several Wisconsin-based biotech and pharma employers have established sponsorship track records. Exact Sciences in Madison is known for sponsoring roles in molecular diagnostics and research. Promega Corporation, also in Madison, regularly hires internationally for scientific positions. MilliporeSigma operates facilities in Milwaukee and sponsors across manufacturing and R&D functions. Larger pharmaceutical contract manufacturers with Wisconsin operations also sponsor through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most biotech & pharma Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Madison is Wisconsin's primary biotech hub, home to a dense cluster of life sciences companies and the University of Wisconsin-Madison research ecosystem, which feeds talent into nearby employers. Milwaukee is the second-largest market, with pharma manufacturing and medical device firms concentrated in the metro area. Smaller but notable activity exists in Waukesha and the Fox Valley region, particularly around contract pharmaceutical and specialty chemical manufacturing.
What types of biotech & pharma roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles requiring specialized scientific or technical credentials are most commonly sponsored. These include research scientists in genomics, proteomics, and cell biology; bioprocess and pharmaceutical manufacturing engineers; regulatory affairs specialists; clinical research associates; and bioinformatics professionals. Most sponsored positions require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with EB-2 sponsorships typically targeting roles requiring advanced degrees or exceptional ability.
How do I find biotech & pharma Green Card sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters positions by visa type, including Green Card sponsorship, and by industry. You can search biotech and pharma roles in Wisconsin directly, seeing only employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies with no sponsorship history, which is a common and time-consuming problem for international candidates in Wisconsin's life sciences market.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in biotech & pharma?
Wisconsin does not have state-level immigration programs, so sponsorship follows standard federal pathways, primarily EB-2 and EB-3 through PERM labor certification. One practical consideration is that Wisconsin's biotech sector skews toward research and manufacturing rather than venture-backed startups, meaning many sponsoring employers are established organizations with dedicated HR and legal teams familiar with the PERM process, which can contribute to more structured sponsorship timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card biotech & pharma jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
