Which manufacturing companies sponsor Green Card visas in Wisconsin?
Several large Wisconsin manufacturers have established Green Card sponsorship track records, including Oshkosh Corporation, Kohler Co., Rockwell Automation, Briggs and Stratton, and Bemis Manufacturing. Medical device firms like Plexus Corp and Exact Sciences also sponsor in the state. Sponsorship patterns are most consistent at companies with dedicated HR and legal resources, typically those with 500 or more employees.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most manufacturing Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the largest hub, anchored by industrial equipment, electronics, and food manufacturing employers. The Fox Valley corridor, including Appleton, Neenah, and Oshkosh, concentrates paper, packaging, and specialty manufacturing. Green Bay supports food processing and packaging firms, while Racine and Kenosha benefit from proximity to the Chicago metro supply chain, attracting automotive and plastics manufacturers with active sponsorship programs.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles requiring specialized degrees or technical expertise are most commonly sponsored. These include mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineers, quality assurance managers, automation and controls engineers, manufacturing process engineers, and supply chain analysts. Production supervisor and plant manager positions are also sponsored at larger facilities. Roles requiring only general labor skills without a specific degree requirement are rarely sponsored for Green Cards.
How do I find manufacturing Green Card sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters manufacturing jobs in Wisconsin by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card. Rather than sorting through thousands of listings to find willing sponsors, you can search directly for Wisconsin manufacturing roles where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship availability, saving significant time during a high-stakes job search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin manufacturing?
Wisconsin does not have state-level immigration programs, so Green Card sponsorship follows standard federal pathways, most commonly EB-2 or EB-3 through PERM labor certification. Wisconsin's manufacturing sector is heavily unionized in some segments, which can affect job duties documentation during PERM. The state's relatively lower cost of living compared to coastal hubs can influence prevailing wage determinations, which employers must meet as part of the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card manufacturing jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
