Which companies sponsor visas for project development managers in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's largest industrial and technology employers are the most active sponsors for project development manager roles. Oshkosh Corporation, Kohler Co., Kimberly-Clark, and Epic Systems have established H-1B visa sponsorship histories. Utilities such as WEC Energy Group and manufacturing firms in the Fox Valley region also sponsor international candidates when the role meets specialty occupation requirements under U.S. immigration guidelines.
Which visa types are most common for project development manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project development managers in Wisconsin, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical or business discipline. Candidates already holding L-1A status through multinational employers may also qualify if transferring managerial responsibilities. O-1 visas apply in rare cases where a candidate demonstrates extraordinary achievement in project leadership.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most project development manager sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and Madison generate the highest concentration of project development manager sponsorship opportunities in Wisconsin. Milwaukee's manufacturing, engineering, and financial services sectors drive demand, while Madison benefits from Epic Systems, university-adjacent tech firms, and state government contractors. Green Bay and Appleton in the Fox Valley corridor also produce openings, particularly in packaging, paper, and industrial manufacturing.
How to find project development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to find project development manager roles in Wisconsin without manually vetting each employer. You can search by role and state to surface positions at companies with active H-1B filing histories. This saves time compared to general job searches, where sponsorship availability is rarely stated upfront.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for international project development managers?
Wisconsin employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor for the specific occupation and metro area, which differ between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller Wisconsin markets. The state's strong manufacturing and energy sectors mean many project development manager roles are tied to engineering disciplines, so your degree field and job duties alignment is particularly important for specialty occupation classification.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project development manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
