Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for software QA engineers?
Epic Systems in Verona is one of the most active Wisconsin employers for software QA engineers, given its scale in healthcare IT. Other employers with sponsorship histories include Rockwell Automation and Fiserv in the Milwaukee area, as well as mid-size software firms supporting manufacturing and financial services. Sponsorship availability varies by team, project backlog, and fiscal year hiring plans.
Which visa types are most common for software QA engineer roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for software QA engineers in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Some employers also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT are frequently considered, since they provide work authorization before any H-1B petition is filed.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most software QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Madison and its surrounding area, particularly Verona, account for a significant share of Wisconsin's software QA sponsorship activity, largely driven by Epic Systems. Milwaukee is the other major hub, home to employers in fintech, manufacturing technology, and healthcare services. Smaller concentrations exist in Green Bay and Waukesha, typically tied to manufacturing software or enterprise IT teams.
How to find software qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship, so you can search software QA engineer positions in Wisconsin without sorting through companies that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories in the state, including those in Madison's healthcare IT corridor and Milwaukee's enterprise tech sector, saving time that would otherwise go toward manually screening hundreds of listings.
Are there any state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for software QA engineers in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's concentration of healthcare IT, with Epic Systems anchoring a large software ecosystem in the Madison area, means many QA roles intersect with regulated industries that require documentation, compliance testing, and validation experience. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metro area, which differ between Milwaukee and Madison. University of Wisconsin graduates in computer science and related fields also feed a local pipeline that competes for the same sponsored roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software qa engineer jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
