Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for software QA engineers?
Indianapolis-based employers including Eli Lilly, Salesforce, Cummins, and Anthem (now Elevance Health) have sponsored H-1B visas for software QA roles. Major financial services firms and healthcare technology companies in the state are also consistent sponsors. Sponsorship activity is heaviest among large enterprises with established immigration programs rather than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for software QA engineer roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for software QA engineers in Indiana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Some candidates also enter through L-1B intracompany transfers, and recent graduates may bridge on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT before their employer files an H-1B petition.
Which cities in Indiana have the most software QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis is by far the strongest market for software QA engineer sponsorship jobs in Indiana, driven by its concentration of enterprise technology, healthcare IT, and financial services employers. Fort Wayne has a smaller but active manufacturing and logistics tech sector. Bloomington and West Lafayette see demand tied to university-adjacent research and software companies, though at lower volume than Indianapolis.
How to find software qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find software QA engineer roles in Indiana without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Indiana-based employers actively hiring international candidates. This saves significant time compared to manually screening unfiltered postings.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for software QA engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Indiana employers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific location and job title when sponsoring an H-1B, so QA engineer positions in Indianapolis are benchmarked against local wage data rather than national averages. Purdue University's computer science pipeline means some Indiana tech employers have established international hiring processes. Life sciences companies tied to Indiana's pharmaceutical sector sometimes prioritize QA engineers with domain-specific testing experience.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software qa engineer jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
