Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as an Account Based Marketing Manager
Target B2B technology companies first
Enterprise SaaS and technology firms run the most active ABM programs and file the highest volume of sponsorship petitions for this role. Their marketing teams are large enough to justify headcount and experienced enough to navigate the visa process without hesitation.
Frame your degree field precisely
USCIS requires your degree to relate directly to the role. Marketing, business administration, communications, and information systems all qualify cleanly. If your degree is in an adjacent field, document how your coursework maps to ABM strategy, demand generation, and campaign management functions.
Lead with measurable pipeline impact
Sponsoring employers want evidence that you move revenue, not just run campaigns. Quantify pipeline influenced, account penetration rates, and deal velocity improvements in your resume. Numbers translate across borders and give hiring managers a concrete case to build around internally.
Raise sponsorship after demonstrating your expertise
ABM is a specialized enough function that strong candidates have real leverage. Use the interview process to establish your value before the sponsorship conversation. Employers who are convinced you are the right hire are far more likely to move forward with visa paperwork.
Understand which visa fits your situation
Australians should explore the E-3 visa, which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely and can be filed within weeks of an offer. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under TN status in the marketing manager category. H-1B remains the standard path for all other nationalities.
Prepare your employer for the LCA step
Many hiring managers have never sponsored before and stall at the Labor Condition Application. Explaining that the LCA is a Department of Labor filing, not a lengthy government investigation, and typically takes under two weeks, often resolves the hesitation before it derails your offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Account Based Marketing Manager qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation based on whether the role normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. ABM Manager roles at technology and enterprise companies consistently cite marketing, business, or communications degrees as requirements. Roles where any degree is acceptable regardless of field are harder to approve, so the job description wording matters significantly.
Which companies are most likely to sponsor an Account Based Marketing Manager?
Mid-size to large B2B SaaS companies are the most consistent sponsors for this role. Firms with dedicated demand generation or revenue marketing teams, particularly in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software, file the most LCAs for ABM-related titles. Migrate Mate filters job listings by sponsorship willingness, so you can browse companies already committed to sponsoring this type of role.
Can an Account Based Marketing Manager qualify for an E-3 visa as an Australian citizen?
Yes. The E-3 visa is available to Australian citizens for specialty occupation roles, and ABM Manager qualifies under the same degree-requirement standard as H-1B visa. You apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia without going through the lottery, and the process typically takes four to eight weeks from offer to visa. Your employer files a Labor Condition Application, and you handle the consular application yourself.
What degree do I need to get sponsored as an Account Based Marketing Manager?
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a closely related field is the standard requirement. Information systems or data analytics degrees can also support sponsorship when the role emphasizes account intelligence and marketing technology. A degree in an unrelated field is harder to work with, though a combination of a two-year degree and significant relevant experience can sometimes satisfy the specialty occupation threshold through the three-for-one experience substitution rule.
How competitive is the H-1B lottery for marketing roles compared to technical roles?
Marketing roles are filed at lower volumes than software engineering positions, which means a slightly smaller share of H-1B cap registrations come from this function, but the lottery odds are the same for everyone. Selection is random within the cap. Australians, Canadians, and Mexicans have lottery-free alternatives in the E-3 and TN visa categories, which makes the sponsorship path considerably more predictable for those nationalities compared to the H-1B process.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Account Based Marketing Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
