Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as an Advertising Sales Manager
Target media companies with established sponsorship history
Large publishers, broadcast networks, and digital advertising platforms file H-1B petitions regularly. Focusing on employers with prior sponsorship history significantly increases your chances of finding a role with a smooth, experienced immigration process.
Ensure your degree field aligns with the job posting
USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree and the role. A bachelor's in marketing, business, or communications is the clearest path. Degrees in unrelated fields create specialty occupation challenges that can slow or jeopardize approval.
Highlight quantifiable revenue and quota performance
Sponsoring employers justify the cost and effort when candidates show measurable value. Document specific accounts won, revenue generated, and team targets exceeded. Concrete numbers make the business case for sponsorship stronger during internal approvals.
Understand the H-1B lottery timeline before accepting offers
Cap-subject H-1B petitions are filed in April with employment starting October 1. If you need status immediately, ask whether the employer has cap-exempt affiliated entities or whether an O-1A is worth exploring given your track record.
Get the LCA wage level confirmed early in negotiations
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application certifying your wage meets prevailing levels for the role and location. Confirm which wage level they intend to certify before signing an offer, as this affects both compliance and your salary expectations.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers actively sponsoring this role
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, saving time you'd otherwise spend researching each company's immigration history. Browsing by job title surfaces Advertising Sales Manager openings from employers already committed to sponsoring.

Find Advertising Sales Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does an Advertising Sales Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
It can, but it's not automatic. USCIS requires the position to normally need a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree. Job postings specifying a degree in marketing, communications, or business administration support the specialty occupation argument. Generic postings that accept any bachelor's degree, regardless of field, are more vulnerable to a Request for Evidence.
What visa options exist if I miss the H-1B lottery as an Advertising Sales Manager?
If you have a strong book of business, industry awards, or media coverage of your sales performance, the O-1A extraordinary ability visa is worth exploring with an immigration attorney. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN status under the management consultant or market research analyst categories depending on exact duties. Cap-exempt employers, such as universities or nonprofit research institutions with advertising departments, can file H-1B petitions outside the lottery.
How do USCIS approval rates look for Advertising Sales Manager H-1B petitions?
USCIS does not publish approval data broken down by job title at this level of specificity. Approval depends heavily on how the position is classified in the LCA and petition, the strength of the degree-to-role connection, and the employer's documentation. Roles classified under SOC codes for sales managers in advertising and marketing see meaningful RFE rates, so employer-side legal representation matters significantly.
Do I need a U.S. bachelor's degree, or is a foreign degree accepted for sponsorship?
A foreign degree is accepted. USCIS recognizes foreign academic credentials as equivalent to U.S. degrees when they are comparable in level and field. A three-year bachelor's degree from certain countries may require a credential evaluation to confirm equivalency. Your employer's immigration attorney will typically arrange or request this evaluation as part of the H-1B petition package.
Where can I find Advertising Sales Manager jobs that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter Advertising Sales Manager listings by employers willing to sponsor work visas, removing the guesswork of approaching companies that don't have active immigration programs. This is especially useful given that sponsorship willingness in sales roles varies widely by employer size and industry vertical.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Advertising Sales Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
