INTRODUCTION
WK Medical Center * Bio-Medical Engineering Services * Bio-Medical Engineering Services is seeking a BMET II service technician.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, the Biomedical Technician II will properly respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on complex biomedical equipment. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate complex biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs; perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections and maintain effective department relations.
- Follow as well as guide others as needed regarding appropriate hospital policies, procedures, hospital protocol and complete necessary documentation.
- Order replacement parts and complete all associated paperwork involved in the repair of medical equipment.
- Communicate technical issues to the hospital staff in an easy to understand manner.
- Communicate with technical representatives from vendor companies and administrative department heads from other facilities.
- Rotate after hours call and be able to respond within a two hour window.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree or higher formal training in electronics or three (3) or more years experience in medical electronics service and repair.
- Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET) desired.
- Possess the ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and follow signal flow in complex circuits.
- Have the ability to use basic and advanced test equipment and hand tools proficiently.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects and work in awkward positions.
- Must have high degree of manual dexterity.

Selected candidate can live in the surrounding areas of Shreveport/Bossier, LA.
