Caterpillar has an existing LiDAR calibration process that takes approximately 8 hours per unit. The goal of this project is to determine how that process can be reduced to 1 hour using the existing technology, while maintaining calibration accuracy, repeatability, and product quality.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Location: Hybrid / Mossville, IL – onsite as needed
Engagement: W2 Contract / Statement of Work
Pay: up to $125/hour, based on experience
Travel: Approved travel expenses paid
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Senior-level experience improving calibration, test, or production processes for complex electromechanical or sensor-based products
- Proven experience identifying process bottlenecks and delivering measurable cycle-time improvements
- Strong understanding of measurement accuracy, repeatability, test data, and process validation
- Experience working across hardware, software, test, manufacturing, and quality
- Ability to independently lead a technical process-improvement project
- Ability to travel to Mossville, IL for onsite project work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- LiDAR or optical sensor calibration
- LabVIEW
- Automated test systems
