Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Customer Solutions Specialist
Confirm the degree requirement is explicit
Sponsorship depends on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation. Check that the job posting requires a specific bachelor's degree field, not just 'any degree', vague requirements weaken the H-1B petition and can trigger a Request for Evidence.
Target employers with H-1B filing history
Companies that have sponsored Customer Solutions Specialists before are far more likely to do it again. Employers with established immigration infrastructure move faster and understand the LCA and I-129 process, reducing delays on your end.
Raise sponsorship before the offer stage
Bring up your visa status during the second or third interview round, not after an offer is made. This saves both sides time and signals professionalism. Most employers who sponsor are accustomed to this conversation and will appreciate the directness.
Canadian and Mexican nationals can use TN status
TN visa eligibility requires your role to match an approved USMCA profession. Customer Solutions Specialists may qualify under management consultant or related categories depending on job duties, confirm the correct classification with your employer's immigration counsel.
Browse sponsorship-friendly openings on Migrate Mate
Not all Customer Solutions Specialist postings are open to sponsored candidates. Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, so you spend less time on roles that won't move forward and more time on employers already prepared to sponsor.

Find Customer Solutions Specialist JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can a Customer Solutions Specialist role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, but the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business, communications, information systems, or a related discipline. If the job description accepts any degree regardless of field, USCIS may push back during adjudication. Roles with defined technical or analytical responsibilities tied to a specific field of study have the strongest cases.
What degree do I need to get sponsored as a Customer Solutions Specialist?
A bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, information technology, or a closely related field is the most common basis for sponsorship in this role. The key is that your degree must align with the specific duties in the job description. A general liberal arts degree may not be sufficient unless your employer can demonstrate the connection to USCIS. Some employers also accept equivalent experience under the three-for-one rule.
How do I find Customer Solutions Specialist jobs that offer visa sponsorship?
The most efficient approach is to search on Migrate Mate, which curates job listings specifically for candidates who need visa sponsorship. Broader job searches waste time on postings from employers who haven't considered sponsorship at all. Look for mid-to-large SaaS companies, enterprise software firms, and financial services businesses, these industries sponsor Customer Solutions Specialists most consistently and tend to have immigration counsel already in place.
Does the H-1B lottery affect my chances of getting sponsored for this role?
Yes. The standard H-1B has an annual cap of 85,000 slots, and registration selection is random. In recent fiscal years, selection rates have been around 25%, meaning most registrations don't result in an approval. If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 visa bypasses the lottery entirely. TN status is also lottery-exempt for Canadian and Mexican nationals. For everyone else, employers willing to sponsor should be aware of the odds and plan accordingly.
Do Customer Solutions Specialist roles have strong H-1B approval rates?
Approval rates for this title vary depending on how the employer structures the petition. Roles framed around technical customer implementation, SaaS product support, or enterprise solutions with clear degree requirements tend to get approved more consistently than broadly defined support roles. USCIS scrutinizes petitions where the specialty occupation connection is weak. A well-documented job description that ties specific duties to a required field of study significantly improves the outcome.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Customer Solutions Specialist jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
