INTRODUCTION
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
Salesforce is hiring an AI & Data Integration Specialist to join our Global Public Sector Solution Engineering team. The AI revolution is a data evolution, and this critical role sits at the forefront of making agentic AI a reality for our customers.
As a specialist, you are more than a technical expert—you are a strategic architectural partner who consolidates expertise across MuleSoft (Integration), Tableau (Analytics), Data Cloud (Unified Data Management), and agentic AI to solve complex data and AI challenges.
You will serve as the single point of contact for sales teams, ensuring every data and AI opportunity is handled by a specialist who thinks like an architect, draws on prior hands-on delivery experience, and communicates outcomes and impacts in the voice of the business user and mission owner. You will be a vital contributor to the success of our agency customers by conducting holistic discovery, reframing the “data-to-agentic-AI journey,” and designing compliant, AI-ready architectures that deliver actionable insights from disparate silos while enabling intelligent, autonomous agents.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between legacy system connectivity and modern mission outcomes, acting as a trusted advisor who can navigate everything from API management and real-time data unification to advanced analytics and the deployment strategy for intelligent agentic systems.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What you get working for the AI & Data Integration SE Team:
- A Unified Mission: Work in a specialized team that eliminates fragmented resource requests by owning the entire data-to-AI lifecycle.
- Outcome-First Leadership: Opportunities to lead high-impact discovery sessions that start with agency mission outcomes (e.g., operational readiness, intelligence fusion, logistics modernization) rather than product features.
- Strategic Growth: Support from leaders committed to your mastery of the “Data 360 + Agentic AI” vision, including integration, analytics, unified data management, and intelligent agentic capabilities.
- Innovation at Scale: Work for the #1 AI CRM company, building the trusted data foundations and agentic architectures required for the next generation of autonomous AI agents that accelerate outcomes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications you’ll need to be successful:
- Architectural Mindset: Design secure, composable architectures that scale within highly regulated Public Sector environments (including FedRAMP High and Impact Level 4/5/6).
- Multi-Platform Technical Depth: Previous hands-on experience or deep conceptual knowledge across Integration (MuleSoft), Data Analytics (Tableau), Unified Data Management (Data Cloud), and agentic AI platforms. A qualified candidate will have expertise in no less than two of the core data/integration capabilities plus demonstrated prior experience with agentic AI; a great candidate will have exposure across all.
- Agentic AI Experience: Demonstrated experience (2+ years is highly valued) with agentic AI solutions, including prior hands-on work designing or deploying intelligent agents, LLM integration strategies, orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.
- Strategic Communication: Excellent ability to reframe technical challenges into mission and business value for C-level government executives and technical stakeholders alike.
- AI Readiness: Deep understanding of “Trusted Context Foundations” for AI, including data grounding, metadata intelligence, and how unified data enables reliable agentic workflows.
- Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to partner early with Account Executives to drive sales strategy and lead “Data + Agentic AI Discovery” from day one.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Solution Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or Digital Transformation, with previous hands-on delivery experience in AI/data/integration projects.
- Technical Foundations: Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent; prior experience with APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern development practices is preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications: One or more of the following: MuleSoft Certified Architect, Tableau Desktop/Server Specialist, Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant, AI Associate credentials, or equivalent.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Public Sector/DoD compliance (FedRAMP/IL5/6) and common government data silos.
- Ecosystem Expertise: Familiarity with advanced data governance and MDM tools, plus prior exposure to agentic AI frameworks or orchestration patterns in past implementations.
- Regulated Industry Experience: Background delivering AI solutions in highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
3 months:
- Master the Stack: Complete intensive “Astro” courses and certification paths for MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Data Cloud, Tableau, and agentic AI capabilities.
- Build Your Point of View: Align with the GTM Plan and begin building your “Data-to-Agentic AI Journey” whiteboarding and workshop skills.
- Shadow & Learn: Join active Public Sector engagements to observe how the specialist leads discovery and architects multi-product AI + data solutions.
12 months:
- Own the Technical Win: Serve as the lead architect on complex, multi-cloud data and agentic AI opportunities, delivering higher win rates and faster deal cycles.
- Evangelize the Vision: Execute high-impact architectural workshops and “Stand & Deliver” sessions that showcase the power of unified data as the foundation for trustworthy intelligent agents.
- Enable the Ecosystem: Mentor account teams and partners on how to position “Data + Integration + Agentic AI” as the foundation for mission transformation.
- Drive Mission Outcomes: Successfully architect solutions that unify citizen/operational data, modernize legacy systems, enable real-time analytics, and deploy agentic AI capabilities that accelerate decision-making and operational excellence.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Data Integration Specialist
Emphasize specialized technical skills
Highlight expertise in specific integration platforms like Informatica, Talend, or MuleSoft. Employers need to demonstrate this role requires specialized knowledge beyond general IT support.
Target companies with complex data ecosystems
Focus on enterprises managing multiple databases, cloud migrations, or real-time analytics. These organizations have clearer business justification for specialized integration expertise.
Show degree relevance clearly
Connect your computer science, information systems, or engineering degree directly to integration work. USCIS scrutinizes the degree-to-role relationship for technical positions.
Document integration project complexity
Prepare examples of multi-system integrations, API development, or data transformation projects. Complex technical work strengthens the specialty occupation argument significantly.
Research employer's H-1B history
Check DOL disclosure data for previous LCA filings. Companies with established H-1B programs understand the documentation requirements for technical roles better.
Consider consulting firms strategically
Integration consultancies often sponsor H-1Bs but face higher scrutiny. Ensure the end-client project demonstrates genuine specialty occupation work, not basic configuration tasks.

Find Data Integration Specialist JobsFrequently Asked Questions
What degree do I need for H-1B sponsorship as a data integration specialist?
Most successful H-1B petitions for data integration specialists require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, or closely related technical field. Some employers accept mathematics or engineering degrees if you have relevant coursework in databases and programming. The degree must directly relate to the technical complexity of integration work.
Do data integration specialists have good H-1B approval rates?
Data integration roles generally see favorable approval rates when the employer demonstrates the position requires specialized technical knowledge in ETL processes, API development, and database architecture. Success depends on clearly distinguishing this role from general IT support or basic database administration, which face more scrutiny from USCIS.
Can bootcamp graduates get H-1B sponsorship for integration roles?
Bootcamp training alone typically isn't sufficient for H-1B approval in data integration roles. USCIS expects a bachelor's degree in a technical field. However, if you have a non-technical degree plus extensive relevant work experience, the three-years-experience-per-one-year-education rule might apply, though this path faces higher scrutiny.
What visa alternatives exist for data integration specialists?
Australian citizens can use the E-3 visa, which has no cap and typically approves quickly for technical roles. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN status under the computer systems analyst category, though the job duties must align precisely with that classification. O-1 visas are possible for senior architects with exceptional achievements.
How do consulting arrangements affect H-1B applications for integration work?
Integration specialists working through consulting firms face additional scrutiny regarding the end-client relationship and actual work performed. The petitioning employer must demonstrate control over your work and that you'll perform genuine specialty occupation duties, not just basic system configuration. Third-party placement arrangements require careful documentation of the employer-employee relationship.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Data Integration Specialist jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
How to find Data Integration Specialist jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Data Integration Specialist jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus on tech companies, consulting firms, and healthcare organizations that commonly sponsor H-1B and other work visas for data professionals. These employers actively seek specialists skilled in ETL processes, database management, and integration platforms to support their data infrastructure needs.
