Join the team at Best Western Plus Altoona Inn as a Front Desk Agent, where your energy, professionalism, and passion for hospitality help create memorable experiences for every guest. This position is a float role, supporting all three shifts when needed, but will work primarily the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift.
As the first point of contact for many guests, you’ll play a key role in ensuring every stay begins and ends with outstanding service. Your ability to multitask, communicate clearly, and problem-solve will help maintain smooth front desk operations while delivering a welcoming, guest-focused experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming and professional first impression.
- Manage guest check-in and check-out processes efficiently using hotel property management systems and multi-line phone systems.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns with professionalism and a solutions-focused attitude.
- Provide helpful information about hotel amenities and local attractions in Altoona to enhance guest experiences.
- Maintain accurate reservation records, guest accounts, and billing details while ensuring confidentiality.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to meet guest needs quickly and efficiently.
- Assist with laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens as needed to support housekeeping.
- Help with breakfast area preparation and upkeep, including setup, restocking items, and maintaining cleanliness for guests.
- Support night audit duties when scheduled, ensuring accurate financial and operational reporting during overnight shifts.
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette while managing multiple communication channels.
- Contribute to a welcoming environment that encourages repeat stays and positive guest reviews.
Schedule
- Float position covering all shifts as needed
- Primary shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel front desk operations or hospitality preferred.
- Strong customer service background with a focus on guest satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly valued.
- Familiarity with night audit procedures or hotel accounting practices is beneficial.
- Strong phone etiquette and the ability to manage multi-line phone systems.
- Ability to multitask and assist across departments in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
