What You’ll Do:
- Plans, directs, and coordinates all operations of institution laundry (e.g., washing, drying and repairing of clothing, towels and linens)
- Monitors inmates in classifying, washing, drying, folding and checking of laundry
- Inspects work in progress and in completion
- Assigns work to inmates and monitors collection and return of laundry to ensure even flow of work
- Participates in evaluation of inmates assigned to laundry
- Provides extensive training to assigned inmates to ensure proper operation and care of laundry equipment
- Writes inmate job description for laundry operation
- Oversees preventative maintenance of all machinery
- Repairs and requisitioning of parts
- Orders supplies
- Maintains safety and sanitation within laundry
- Prepares and maintains accurate records of all operations of laundry to include inmate time reports, supplies used, quantities of clothing laundered, losses and all related functions
- Writes reports (e.g., daily work output, inventory, requests for laundry supplies, etc.), works in clothing room or quartermaster office to monitor issuance of clothing to inmates and employees as assigned
- Serves on institution committees

All final applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments.
