Process Engineering Manager, Delivery
Thermal constraints limit AI infrastructure, semiconductor equipment, power electronics, and defense systems. Alloy Enterprises removes those constraints. Enabled by the Stack Forging™ process, Alloy produces high-performance thermal components and cooling loop solutions — purpose-built for direct integration into AI, HPC, and mission-critical systems. Founded in 2020, Alloy has built the industry's leading thermal management platform for the applications that demand it most.
This role generally requires 4 days onsite per week.
What You’ll Do
As the Process Delivery Manager, you will lead engineering efforts to identify root causes, optimize processes, and help deliver high-performance, high-quality parts to Alloy’s customers ahead of schedule. This role is designed for a leader who is interested in managing a team while remaining a hands-on individual contributor. Your mission is to bridge the gap between engineering development and high-volume output, ensuring our unique manufacturing process scales seamlessly from prototype to mass production.
Who You Are
You are a resilient, tenacious engineering leader with a deep sense of ownership. Identifying and dismantling roadblocks is your core competency. You are comfortable navigating a high-growth environment and possess the technical grit and engineering judgment necessary to deliver. You understand how to deploy a team's resources effectively and can coach engineers to improve and execute. You will be the vital link that ensures we deliver successful customer outcomes while pushing the limits of the Stack Forging process.
Responsibilities
- Lead & Mentor: Manage a high-performing team of Process Engineers, providing technical guidance and career development while maintaining a "hands-on" presence on the production floor.
- Scale for Volume: Own the transition of parts to high-volume production, ensuring that components are designed and builds are optimized for throughput and cost.
- Process Tuning & Optimization: Contribute across the process of Stack Forging, including laser cutting, metal-metal bonding, surface characterization/preparation, complex part geometry design, data and computational analysis, and material property optimization in the support of existing customer projects.
- Strategic Root Cause Analysis: Lead deep-dive investigations into issues, utilizing data and technical grit to identify root causes.
- Cross-Functional Feedback: Act as the primary link between the production floor and the broader engineering organization to identify long-term improvements in testing and manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7–10+ years of professional experience, or a PhD with 5+ years of experience (commensurate with a Lead Engineer level).
- Manufacturing Expertise: Deep experience in mass-production environments and familiarity with manufacturing methods such as metal additive manufacturing, casting, machining, or brazing.
- Relevant Experience: Previous hands-on experience with laser cutting, metallurgy, or surface chemistry.
- Tooling: Familiar with CAD (preferably Onshape), and proficiency with Python for data analysis.
- Leadership History: Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams or leading significant engineering projects.
Preferred Skills
- Adaptability: Previous experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
SALARY RANGE: $130,000 - $145,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile. If you believe your background warrants consideration beyond the stated range, we encourage you to apply. To support an efficient and fair hiring process, we may use technology assisted tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), to help identify and evaluate candidates. All hiring decisions are ultimately made by human reviewers. For details, please visit the About Us tab on the Johnson Controls Careers site.

Target manufacturing and chemical companies with established sponsorship programs
Boeing, Intel, 3M, Dow Chemical, and General Electric have consistent Process Engineering Manager visa approvals. These companies understand the specialized nature of process engineering roles and have dedicated immigration support.
Emphasize your engineering degree alignment with process optimization responsibilities
USCIS requires your degree field to match job duties. Chemical, industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering degrees directly support process engineering manager roles requiring specialized technical knowledge.
Highlight experience with specific process improvement methodologies and systems
Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical process control, and automation systems demonstrate specialized knowledge. Document quantifiable improvements you've achieved in previous process optimization projects for stronger petitions.
Focus on companies with complex manufacturing operations requiring process expertise
Semiconductor fabs, pharmaceutical manufacturing, automotive plants, and chemical processing facilities have intricate processes requiring specialized engineering knowledge, making visa approval more straightforward than generic management roles.
Prepare documentation of your technical certifications and specialized training
Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing certifications, or specialized software training in process simulation tools strengthen your case by demonstrating knowledge beyond what general managers possess.
Consider entry-level process engineer positions if manager roles prove difficult
Process Engineer roles have strong visa approval rates and clear degree requirements. Many companies promote internally to manager positions once you're established, avoiding future sponsorship complications.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Process Engineering Manager roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, Process Engineering Manager positions consistently qualify for H-1B visas because they require specialized engineering knowledge and typically mandate an engineering degree. The role's technical nature involving process optimization, quality systems, and production efficiency meets specialty occupation requirements, making USCIS approval straightforward for qualified candidates.
What degree do I need for Process Engineering Manager visa sponsorship?
You need a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably chemical, industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering. Some companies accept closely related fields like materials science or operations research. The degree must align with the technical responsibilities of process optimization and manufacturing systems management required for the role.
Which industries sponsor Process Engineering Manager visas most frequently?
Manufacturing industries including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, automotive, chemicals, and food processing sponsor these roles regularly. Companies like Intel, Boeing, 3M, Pfizer, and General Motors have established process engineering departments requiring specialized knowledge that supports strong visa petitions with consistent approval rates.
Can I get sponsored as a Process Engineering Manager without prior management experience?
Many companies sponsor Process Engineer roles first, then promote internally to manager positions. This path often works better than competing directly for manager roles requiring both technical expertise and leadership experience. Process Engineer positions have clear qualification requirements and strong visa approval rates.
Do Process Engineering Manager roles qualify for green card sponsorship?
Yes, these roles typically qualify for EB-2 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification. The specialized engineering knowledge and degree requirements support permanent residency applications. Many manufacturing companies with ongoing process improvement needs are willing to sponsor green cards for experienced process engineering managers.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Process Engineering Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
