Position Summary
The PSR Specialist will provide structured, recovery-oriented rehabilitative services to adults with serious mental illness. This position focuses on helping individuals develop and strengthen the daily living, interpersonal, social, and community integration skills necessary to function more independently.
The ideal candidate is creative, patient, engaging, and comfortable facilitating group activities while maintaining a supportive and structured therapeutic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate structured psychosocial rehabilitation groups and skill-building activities.
- Teach and reinforce daily living skills, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Assist participants in developing coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and healthy routines.
- Support individuals in developing greater independence and community functioning.
- Implement individualized goals and interventions outlined in each participant's Person-Centered Plan (PCP).
- Lead engaging educational, recreational, and recovery-oriented activities.
- Encourage participant involvement, peer interaction, and positive social engagement.
- Monitor and document participant progress toward treatment goals.
- Complete accurate daily service notes, attendance records, and required documentation.
- Collaborate with program leadership, clinical staff, and other members of the treatment team.

Paraprofessional Candidates:
- Must meet North Carolina paraprofessional requirements applicable to the PSR service.
