Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Practice Manager
Target specialized healthcare practices
Multi-specialty medical groups and large dental practices are most likely to sponsor Practice Managers. They need specialized knowledge of healthcare operations, billing systems, and regulatory compliance that generic business managers lack.
Emphasize healthcare-specific systems knowledge
Highlight experience with electronic health records, practice management software, and healthcare revenue cycle management. These specialized skills strengthen the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B petitions.
Focus on regulatory compliance expertise
Healthcare practices value Practice Managers who understand HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and state licensing requirements. This specialized knowledge differentiates you from general business administrators.
Consider healthcare consulting firms
Management consulting companies specializing in healthcare often sponsor Practice Managers. They need professionals who can implement operational improvements across multiple client practices.
Highlight revenue cycle management skills
Medical billing, insurance claims processing, and denial management require specialized knowledge. Practice Managers with these skills have stronger H-1B cases than general operations managers.
Network through healthcare professional associations
Medical Group Management Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association connect Practice Managers with sponsoring employers. Many members actively recruit specialized healthcare administrators.

Find Practice Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
What degree do I need for Practice Manager H-1B sponsorship?
A bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or health services management typically qualifies. Some employers accept business degrees with healthcare management experience. The degree field should relate to business operations or healthcare management, not just general business studies.
How to find Practice Manager jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Practice Manager jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in sponsored positions across healthcare and professional services. Focus your search on medical practices, dental clinics, veterinary hospitals, and healthcare networks that frequently sponsor H-1B, TN, and other work visas for experienced Practice Managers with relevant qualifications.
Do Practice Managers qualify as specialty occupations for H-1B?
Yes, when the position requires specialized knowledge of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, or medical practice management. Generic office management roles may not qualify, but positions requiring healthcare-specific expertise typically meet H-1B specialty occupation requirements.
What types of healthcare employers sponsor Practice Manager H-1Bs?
Large medical groups, multi-specialty practices, dental group practices, and healthcare consulting firms most commonly sponsor Practice Managers. Single-physician practices rarely sponsor H-1Bs, while larger healthcare organizations with complex operations frequently do.
How do I prove specialty occupation requirements for Practice Manager roles?
Emphasize healthcare-specific responsibilities like HIPAA compliance, medical billing oversight, EHR system management, and regulatory reporting. The job description should highlight specialized healthcare knowledge rather than general administrative duties that any business manager could perform.
Can Practice Managers get green cards through their employers?
Yes, Practice Managers can pursue EB-2 or EB-3 green cards through PERM labor certification. Healthcare employers often sponsor permanent residence for valuable Practice Managers, especially those with specialized compliance knowledge or revenue cycle expertise.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Practice Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
