How to Get Visa Sponsorship as an Endoscopy Registered Nurse
Target hospitals with established visa programs
Large hospital systems like Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Johns Hopkins have dedicated immigration departments and regularly sponsor international nurses through established H-1B and EB-3 processes.
Highlight your endoscopy-specific certifications
Certifications like CGRN (Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse) or SGNA training demonstrate specialized knowledge that justifies H-1B specialty occupation requirements and makes you more attractive to sponsors.
Consider rural and underserved hospitals first
Rural hospitals often struggle to fill endoscopy positions and may be more willing to sponsor visas. These facilities also qualify for expedited PERM processing in certain areas.
Apply during nursing shortage cycles
Healthcare staffing shortages create stronger business justification for visa sponsorship. Time your applications when hospitals are actively recruiting to fill critical gaps in endoscopy departments.
Prepare for NCLEX-RN if needed
International nurses must pass NCLEX-RN for U.S. licensure. Complete this before visa applications since employers need confirmation of your ability to obtain state nursing licensure.
Research state nursing license requirements
Each state has different requirements for international nursing graduates. Some require credentials evaluation through CGFNS, while others accept direct application with degree verification and English proficiency testing.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can endoscopy nurses get H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, endoscopy registered nurses qualify for H-1B sponsorship since nursing requires specialized knowledge and a bachelor's degree in nursing or related field. Healthcare employers regularly sponsor nurses for H-1B visas, especially for specialized units like endoscopy where specific training and certifications are required.
What degree do I need for endoscopy nurse visa sponsorship?
You need a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. Some employers may accept an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) plus additional experience, but BSN is preferred for H-1B applications. You must also be eligible for RN licensure in the sponsoring state.
Do hospitals sponsor EB-3 visas for endoscopy nurses?
Yes, hospitals frequently sponsor EB-3 green cards for registered nurses, including endoscopy specialists. The nursing shortage makes it easier to demonstrate that no qualified U.S. workers are available. EB-3 processing currently takes 1-2 years for most countries, though some face longer backlogs.
Can I work as an endoscopy nurse while my visa is processing?
If you're already in the U.S. on a valid status, you can apply for a change of status and may be eligible for work authorization while the petition is pending. International applicants abroad must wait for visa approval before beginning work. Consular processing typically takes 2-6 months.
What makes endoscopy nurses attractive for visa sponsorship?
Endoscopy nurses possess specialized skills in gastroenterology procedures, sedation monitoring, and complex patient care that are in high demand. The combination of technical expertise, patient safety responsibilities, and shortage of qualified candidates makes hospitals willing to invest in visa sponsorship for experienced endoscopy nurses.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Endoscopy Registered Nurse jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
