Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Delivery Manager
Target companies with an established H-1B track record
Large tech firms, consulting companies, and enterprise software vendors file H-1B petitions for delivery management roles regularly. Focus your search on employers who have sponsored this specific title before, not just companies that sponsor generally.
Frame your degree as directly relevant to the role
USCIS requires a specific degree-to-job nexus for specialty occupation approval. A degree in computer science, engineering, or business administration maps cleanly. If your degree is in another field, document how your coursework directly supports delivery management work.
Highlight cross-functional leadership over general management
General management roles face more scrutiny on specialty occupation grounds. Emphasize technical delivery frameworks, Agile methodologies, and domain-specific expertise in your resume to reinforce that the role requires specialized knowledge, not just management skills.
Clarify sponsorship early, not after an offer
Asking about sponsorship after a verbal offer creates friction. Raise it professionally during final-round conversations. Employers who sponsor regularly expect the question and appreciate candidates who understand the process rather than treating it as a surprise.
Understand your current status and timeline
If you're on OPT or a grace period, timeline matters significantly. H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October start. Some employers will bridge the gap with cap-exempt institutions or file earlier under premium processing to meet your deadlines.
Use Migrate Mate to focus only on sponsorship-willing employers
Generic job boards mix sponsored and non-sponsored roles with no way to filter. Migrate Mate surfaces Senior Delivery Manager roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor, saving you from spending time on applications that will go nowhere.

Find Senior Delivery Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Is Senior Delivery Manager considered a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Generally yes, but it depends on how the role is defined. USCIS approves H-1B petitions for this title when the job description requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a field like computer science, engineering, or business. Roles framed as general project oversight without a clear degree requirement are more likely to face a Request for Evidence. Employers with experienced immigration counsel typically draft job descriptions that document the specialized knowledge the position demands.
What visa types are most common for Senior Delivery Manager roles?
H-1B is the most common path for candidates outside the U.S. or already on OPT. L-1A is an option if you're currently employed by a multinational and being transferred into a U.S. managerial role, since Senior Delivery Managers can qualify under the managerial capacity definition. Australians should also consider the E-3, which has no lottery and significantly faster processing. TN is available to Canadians and Mexicans in qualifying management or engineering categories.
Do I need a degree in a specific field to qualify for H-1B sponsorship in this role?
USCIS looks for a direct relationship between your degree field and the job duties. Computer science, information technology, engineering, and business administration are the most commonly accepted fields for delivery management roles. If your degree is in an unrelated discipline, the employer's attorney will need to document how your education still supports the specialty occupation argument, often by emphasizing technical coursework or a pattern of progressive experience.
How do I find Senior Delivery Manager jobs that actually sponsor visas?
Most job postings don't clearly state whether sponsorship is available, which makes filtering difficult on general boards. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this, listing roles from employers who are open to sponsoring international candidates. Searching there removes the guesswork and lets you focus your applications on companies that have already indicated they'll support the visa process.
What happens if I'm on OPT and my employer wants to sponsor me for H-1B but I'm nearing the end of my authorization?
If your OPT expires before October 1 and your H-1B petition is selected in the lottery, you'll have a gap in work authorization. STEM OPT extension (if you qualify) can bridge this period since USCIS grants a cap-gap extension automatically. Without STEM OPT, some employers manage the gap by placing you on a brief leave or utilizing cap-exempt filing pathways. Raise this timeline with your employer and their immigration attorney as early as possible.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Senior Delivery Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
