INTRODUCTION
At Beyond Finance, we've made it our mission to help everyday Americans escape the endless cycle of crippling debt and step into a brighter financial future. Through compassionate, individualized care, a culture focused on compliance and ethics, supportive user-centric technology, and customized financial solutions, we've helped over 1 million clients on their path to a brighter future. While we're proud of what we've already accomplished, we're searching for new collaborators to help us get to the next level! If you're looking to join a forward-thinking, rapidly growing organization with helping people as its number one goal, we want to hear from you.
ROLE
You will be the technical lead across our End User Computing and Workplace Technology teams, setting the bar for how we build, deploy, and maintain systems at scale across 5,000+ endpoints — a large, complex environment spanning Windows, Mac, and cloud-managed infrastructure. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own architecture-level decisions and solve hard problems, not manage people. When a project is at risk or a design needs a harder look, you're who the team leans on.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the architecture and implementation of major initiatives across endpoint management, identity, and workplace infrastructure
- Define engineering standards for configuration management, automation, change control, and deployment quality
- Unblock complex problems, review high-risk changes, and raise the quality floor across the team
- Evaluate new tooling and platforms with a clear view of tradeoffs, security posture, and operational cost
- Turn ambiguous business problems into well-scoped technical solutions, making sound decisions with incomplete information
- Participate in the incident response to production outages — own technical response, drive resolution, and ensure problems are fully closed
- Represent the team's technical direction to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership without the director in the room when needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years in IT engineering with a background in systems engineering and/or endpoint management at large or mid-sized enterprise scale
- Hands-on scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and orchestration
- Deep operational experience with MDM tooling across Windows and Mac device fleets
- Network fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, TLS/SSL, and Zero Trust/VPN architecture
- Identity and access governance: SSO, SAML, SCIM, conditional access policies, and access lifecycle management
- Experience with Git-based version control workflows, including pull requests and automation pipelines
- Experience with logging agents, SIEM integrations, auditing, monitoring, telemetry, and observability
- Familiarity with endpoint security tooling (EDR, DLP)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Zero Trust security frameworks and compliance practices
- Actively uses AI tools as part of their engineering workflow; brings an AI-forward mindset to solving problems at scale
- Experience working in SASE/SSE environments
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is technically sharp, moves with urgency, and can own the hardest problems on the team end-to-end. You've operated at enterprise scale and know what it means to set a technical bar, not just meet one. You make architectural decisions with incomplete information and drive them through to completion despite ambiguity. You communicate with equal clarity to an engineer and an executive, and you embrace AI tools as force multipliers.
COMPENSATION
Base Salary Range: $120,000—$160,000 USD
WHY JOIN US?
BENEFITS

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Senior IT Engineer
Lead with your technical specialization
Employers sponsor roles they can't easily fill domestically. Highlight niche expertise, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, DevOps, or enterprise systems, prominently in your resume. Specialized engineers face less internal resistance when companies evaluate sponsorship costs.
Target companies with a sponsorship track record
Large tech firms, financial institutions, and healthcare systems sponsor Senior IT Engineers regularly. Focusing on employers with established immigration programs means faster approvals and less friction during the offer and onboarding process.
Understand your degree's role in the petition
Your bachelor's degree field matters. Computer science, information systems, or electrical engineering align cleanly with most Senior IT Engineer roles. If your degree is in an unrelated field, document how your coursework or certifications establish equivalent specialized knowledge.
Frame your seniority in terms of decision-making authority
USCIS looks for roles requiring theoretical and practical application of specialized knowledge. Emphasize system architecture decisions, cross-functional technical leadership, and complex problem-solving, not just task execution, to strengthen the specialty occupation argument.
Get your LCA job title and duties right before filing
The Labor Condition Application locks in your job title and duties. Mismatches between the LCA and your actual role can trigger RFEs or denials. Review the LCA carefully with your employer before it's filed with the Department of Labor.
Don't wait for H-1B season to start the process
Cap-exempt employers, universities, nonprofits, and research institutions, can file H-1B petitions year-round. If you're exploring those sectors, sponsorship isn't limited to the April lottery window, giving you more flexibility in your job search timeline.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior IT Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
In most cases, yes. Senior IT Engineer roles typically require at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related engineering field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard. However, if the job description allows any bachelor's degree regardless of field, USCIS may push back with an RFE. Employers should write job requirements precisely to reflect the technical depth the role actually demands.
Can I get an H-1B as a Senior IT Engineer if my degree is not in computer science?
Yes, but it requires more documentation. USCIS accepts degrees in closely related fields like electrical engineering, mathematics, or information systems. If your degree is unrelated, you can substitute three years of specialized work experience per year of missing education. Certifications alone rarely suffice, the experience needs to be documented in detail and directly tied to the IT engineering duties in the petition.
How can I find Senior IT Engineer jobs that sponsor visas?
Migrate Mate lists Senior IT Engineer roles specifically from employers open to visa sponsorship, so you're not sifting through postings that exclude international candidates. Filtering by role and sponsorship type upfront saves significant time and targets companies that have sponsored similar positions before.
Is the L-1B visa a realistic option for Senior IT Engineers transferring within a multinational company?
Yes, and it's often underused. The L-1B covers employees with specialized knowledge, which fits Senior IT Engineers working on proprietary systems, infrastructure, or enterprise platforms specific to their employer. You must have worked for the overseas affiliate for at least one continuous year within the past three years. L-1B approval rates have improved with stronger documentation of what makes the knowledge genuinely specialized.
What's the difference between an H-1B and an O-1A for a Senior IT Engineer?
The H-1B is the standard path for specialty occupation roles and requires an employer sponsor and, for most applicants, lottery selection. The O-1A is reserved for individuals with extraordinary ability, think published research, patents, major awards, or recognized leadership in the field. Senior IT Engineers with exceptional credentials can bypass the lottery entirely via O-1A, but the evidentiary bar is meaningfully higher than H-1B.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Senior IT Engineer jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
