Do Enterprise Architects qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, Enterprise Architects typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering. The role's requirement for specialized knowledge in enterprise architecture frameworks, system integration, and technology strategy meets USCIS criteria. Success depends on the job description clearly linking degree requirements to specific technical responsibilities.
What degree do I need for Enterprise Architect visa sponsorship?
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a closely related technical field is typically required. Some positions may accept degrees in business administration with significant IT coursework, but technical degrees provide stronger visa cases. Advanced degrees like Master's in Computer Science or MBA with technology focus strengthen applications further.
Can Enterprise Architects get O-1 visa sponsorship?
Enterprise Architects can qualify for O-1 visas if they demonstrate extraordinary ability through recognition like industry awards, published articles on enterprise architecture, speaking at major technology conferences, or leading transformational technology initiatives at well-known companies. The O-1 requires significantly higher achievements than typical enterprise architect experience, but is possible for senior practitioners with notable accomplishments.
Which companies sponsor Enterprise Architects for work visas?
Fortune 500 companies, major consulting firms like Accenture and Deloitte, technology companies, financial institutions, and healthcare systems regularly sponsor Enterprise Architects. Large organizations with complex IT infrastructure need enterprise architects and have established visa sponsorship processes. Mid-size companies may sponsor but less frequently due to the specialized nature and cost.
What's the approval rate for Enterprise Architect H-1B applications?
Enterprise Architect H-1B applications generally have favorable approval rates when properly documented, as the role clearly requires specialized technical knowledge. However, USCIS scrutinizes whether the specific position truly requires a degree in a specialized field. Applications succeed when job descriptions emphasize technical architecture requirements rather than general management responsibilities.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Enterprise Architect jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
