Workday Consultant Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a workday consultant job in Chicago?
Focus on Chicago's dense concentration of large healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and financial services firms in the Loop and Fulton Market, as these employers run the most active Workday implementations in the city. Workday HCM and Financials certifications carry real weight locally. Candidates who have supported full-cycle implementations at a mid-market or enterprise level stand out, and consulting firms with Chicago offices often hire for client-facing roles that build your portfolio quickly.
Which companies hire workday consultants in Chicago?
Employers hiring workday consultants in Chicago right now include Huron Consulting, Workday, and Intecrowd, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Chicago's mix of major health systems, global consultancies with local offices, and large corporate headquarters makes it one of the more active Workday hiring markets in the Midwest.
Are there remote workday consultant jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though availability depends on the engagement type. Configuration, testing, and post-go-live support work tends to be remote-friendly, while active implementation phases often require on-site presence at a Chicago client. About 25% of workday consultant openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among the large consulting firms based in the Loop.
How can I get a workday consultant job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is landing a junior analyst or HR systems analyst role at one of the city's large healthcare systems or corporate headquarters, which routinely hire for Workday support positions that don't require prior consulting experience. Earning a Workday Pro certification in HCM or Financials before applying gives you a measurable edge. Staffing and consulting firms with Chicago offices also hire associate consultants and offer structured training, making them a strong starting point for candidates transitioning from adjacent HR or finance roles.
Which industries hire the most workday consultants in Chicago?
Most workday consultant openings in Chicago sit in Consulting & Professional Services and Manufacturing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Chicago's role as a hub for major health systems, insurance companies, and global professional services firms drives consistent Workday demand across all three sectors.
