How do I get an account representative job in Columbia?
Focus your search on Columbia's insurance carriers along Harbison Boulevard, the healthcare and hospital systems anchored near the Midlands medical corridor, and the B2B technology and financial services firms clustered in the Vista and downtown districts. Candidates who can show consultative selling experience and familiarity with CRM platforms stand out locally. Networking through Columbia's Chamber of Commerce and regional industry events also gives you a real edge in this relationship-driven market.
Which companies hire account representatives in Columbia?

Columbia's hiring base is especially active among regional insurance carriers, healthcare service organizations, and mid-size technology and financial services firms with South Carolina operations.
Are there remote account representative jobs in Columbia?
Yes, though availability varies since account representative work is often client-facing and territory-based, making fully remote roles less common than in purely desk-based fields. About 60% of account representative openings tied to Columbia are remote or hybrid as of November 2026. Inside sales, SaaS account management, and insurance renewals roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility among Columbia listings.
How can I get an account representative job in Columbia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Columbia is targeting insurance agencies and regional carriers along Harbison Boulevard and Forest Drive, which routinely hire entry-level account servicing staff and train toward licensure. Healthcare billing and patient accounts roles at Prisma Health and MUSC Health-affiliated facilities also provide a strong foothold. Volunteering for client-facing responsibilities in any current role, even outside sales, helps demonstrate the communication skills Columbia employers prioritize when reviewing early-career candidates.
Which industries hire the most account representatives in Columbia?
Most account representative openings in Columbia sit in Energy and Chemicals & Materials, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Columbia's role as a state capital and regional healthcare hub drives consistent demand from insurers, managed care organizations, and B2B service providers operating out of the metro's established commercial corridors.
