Sales Consultant Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales consultant in South Carolina?
The path depends on the industry. For real estate sales consulting, you must pass the South Carolina Real Estate Commission's salesperson exam and obtain a license through the Commission before working with clients. For insurance sales, the South Carolina Department of Insurance requires a state-issued producer license. In technology, automotive, or B2B sales, no state license is required, and most employers look for a bachelor's degree or demonstrated sales experience in a relevant sector.
Which companies hire sales consultants in South Carolina?
South Carolina sales consultant roles are posted by Cellular Sales, Verizon Authorized Retailer, Sun Com Mobile, and CarMax and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. South Carolina's mix of automotive manufacturing, financial services, and growing tech corridors means openings come from a wide range of employer types across the state.
Which South Carolina cities have the most sales consultant jobs?
Columbia, Greenville, and Charleston post the most sales consultant openings in South Carolina. Columbia leads as the state capital with a dense concentration of financial services, insurance, and healthcare companies, Charleston drives demand through its expanding tech sector and port-related logistics firms, and Greenville anchors the Upstate's strong manufacturing and B2B distribution economy that consistently needs territory and account sales talent.
Are there remote sales consultant jobs in South Carolina?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 20% of sales consultant openings tied to South Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role can run through phone, video, and CRM tools. Inside sales and software or SaaS account management positions are most likely to be fully remote, while field sales and territory roles tied to automotive or manufacturing clients typically require in-person client visits.
How can I get hired as a sales consultant in South Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a sales development representative or inside sales associate role, which large South Carolina employers like Synchrony Financial and regional insurance agencies in Columbia and Greenville regularly post for candidates without a long sales history. Completing a South Carolina real estate pre-licensing course or earning an insurance producer license signals commitment and opens additional doors. Retail or customer service experience at automotive dealerships or financial institutions in the state is widely accepted as transferable by hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to sales consultant jobs in South Carolina?
You can find and apply to sales consultant jobs in South Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, industry focus, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
