Accountant Jobs in Denver: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an accountant job in Denver?
Focus your search on Denver's Central Business District, Cherry Creek, and the Denver Tech Center, where financial services firms, energy companies, and regional healthcare systems concentrate their accounting teams. Candidates with experience in oil and gas revenue accounting, construction cost accounting, or healthcare compliance tend to move faster in this market. Tailoring your resume to Denver's dominant sectors gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire accountants in Denver?
Employers hiring accountants in Denver right now include State of Colorado, Sage Hospitality, and AT&T, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Denver's mix of publicly traded corporations, regional banks, large hospital systems, and midsize energy producers means accountants here work across a wide range of employer types and deal sizes.
Are there remote accountant jobs in Denver?
Yes, though it varies by specialty. Roles in financial reporting, tax, and general ledger accounting tend to be more remote-friendly than cost accounting or on-site audit work. About 56% of accountant openings tied to Denver are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the Tech Center's strong presence of distributed finance teams. Corporate accounting roles at Denver-headquartered firms most often offer hybrid schedules.
How can I get an accountant job in Denver with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Denver is staff accountant or accounting associate roles at mid-market firms and regional construction or property management companies, which hire more entry-level candidates than large corporate headquarters. Local public accounting firms in the Cherry Creek and LoDo areas regularly bring on junior staff during busy season. An associate's degree plus QuickBooks or Excel proficiency is often enough to get a first interview at smaller Denver employers.
Which industries hire the most accountants in Denver?
