Investment Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a investment in Colorado?
Most investment roles in Colorado require passing FINRA licensing exams, with the Series 65 being mandatory for investment advisers registered through the Colorado Division of Securities. Registered investment advisers must register directly with the Division of Securities or the SEC depending on assets under management. A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting is the standard educational foundation, and many Colorado employers also expect progress toward or completion of the CFA designation.
Which companies hire investments in Colorado?
Employers hiring investments in Colorado right now include Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, SS&C, and DESRI, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's concentration of financial services firms, wealth management companies, and technology-sector employees with investable assets has drawn both national institutions and independent registered investment adviser firms to the Denver metro and surrounding areas.
Which Colorado cities have the most investment jobs?
Denver, Greenwood Village, and Arvada account for the largest share of investment openings in Colorado. Denver dominates due to its concentration of financial services headquarters, asset management firms, and a large professional workforce, while Boulder attracts roles tied to technology investment and venture-aligned finance, and Colorado Springs supports openings connected to federal contractors and regional wealth management practices.
Are there remote investment jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than many finance-adjacent fields. About 75% of investment openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the analytical and advisory work can be done off-site. Research analyst, financial modeling, and portfolio strategy roles are the most likely to carry remote or hybrid arrangements, while client-facing wealth management positions generally require in-person availability.
How can I get hired as a investment in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial analyst or junior portfolio associate role at a Colorado-based registered investment adviser or regional bank. Charles Schwab and Fidelity Investments both operate rotational and new-grad development programs out of their Denver and Englewood offices. Candidates without direct experience often transition from adjacent roles in accounting, financial planning, or banking. Completing the Series 65 exam before applying gives a strong competitive edge with Colorado-registered investment adviser firms.
Where can I find and apply to investment jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to investment jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and target employer, and apply directly through the listings.
