About the Role
Ninety9 Capital is a Dallas–Fort Worth real estate investment firm. We are seeking an experienced, part-time Property Management Bookkeeper to own the bookkeeping for our single-family rental portfolio (multiple entities, ~210 homes). This is an in-office, part-time role for someone who already knows residential property management accounting and can run the books with minimal hand-holding.
This is a hands-on ownership role: you keep the SFR books clean and current, manage the accounting side of our property management software (Buildium), pay the bills, and make sure expenses and income are recorded accurately across our rental entities. You would work in-office alongside our accounting reviewer and property management team.
What You'll Do
● Own day-to-day bookkeeping for our single-family rental entities (~210 homes across multiple LLCs)
● Run the accounting side of Buildium — accounts payable, paying bills, recording expenses and income
● Maintain clean, current books and prepare/verify monthly financials (P&L) per entity
● Reconcile accounts and keep records audit-ready
● Support the property management team on cost tracking, expenses, and rent items as needed
● Work within our review process (all work reviewed by our senior accounting reviewer)
What We're Looking For
● REQUIRED: real estate accounting or property management accounting/bookkeeping experience — this is not an entry-level role
● Hands-on experience owning a set of property management or real estate books
● Experience with property management software — Buildium strongly preferred (AppFolio, Yardi, or similar considered)
● Strong bookkeeping fundamentals: AP, reconciliations, month-end, financial statements
● Accurate, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
● Reliable and in-office — this is an on-site role in Plano, TX (not remote)
Compensation & Details
● $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience
● Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), in-office in Plano, TX
● W-2 employee
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week

Accountant Jobs in Plano: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an accountant job in Plano?
The strongest path into Plano's accounting market is targeting the city's dense corporate campus corridor along the Dallas North Tollway, where financial services firms, telecom companies, and regional insurers maintain large in-house finance teams. Candidates with general ledger, close-cycle, or financial reporting experience stand out. Familiarity with ERP platforms like SAP or Oracle is a practical edge given the enterprise employers concentrated in Legacy Business Park.
Which companies hire accountants in Plano?
Employers hiring accountants in Plano right now include Fisher Investments, Mosel & Ginn, PLLC, and Ericsson, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Plano's employer base skews toward large corporate headquarters and regional divisional offices, so many openings sit inside structured accounting departments with defined career ladders.
Are there remote accountant jobs in Plano?
Yes, though it depends on the function: analytical and reporting roles tend to go remote more readily than those tied to physical audit, payroll processing, or on-site client work. About 50% of accountant openings tied to Plano are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Corporate accounting roles at Plano's headquartered firms are among the most likely to offer hybrid schedules.
How can I get an accountant job in Plano with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Plano is a staff accountant or accounting associate role at one of the city's mid-size financial services or technology firms, many of which hire recent graduates directly. Plano's corporate campus environment also creates demand for accounts payable and receivable clerks as stepping stones. Proficiency in Excel and exposure to any accounting software, even from coursework, gives candidates a concrete edge in interviews.
Which industries hire the most accountants in Plano?
Most accountant openings in Plano sit in Insurance, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Plano's identity as a corporate relocation destination, anchored by major headquarters along the Tollway corridor, means those sectors maintain large, permanent finance and accounting functions rather than relying on project-based or seasonal hiring.
