Company Overview
Beacon Industries, Inc. is a privately owned, small business with a longstanding presence in south Dallas County since 1976. We specialize in manufacturing high-precision structural aerospace components and assemblies for both commercial and defense sectors, delivering quality and innovation to our clients.
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join our operations team. In this role you will own the scheduling and coordination of our machining and assembly workflow from raw material receipt through final inspection and shipment. You will be the connective tissue between our customers, our shop floor, and our supply chain — keeping jobs moving, identifying conflicts before they become problems, and making sure our team has what they need to execute.
Duties
- Develop, maintain, and communicate work instructions for the shop floor
- Translate customer delivery requirements and purchase orders into detailed work orders and shop floor routing packets
- Monitor job progress daily against the schedule and proactively address capacity conflicts, material shortages, tooling gaps, or quality holds
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure raw material, hardware, and outside processing services (plating, heat treat, NDT) are delivered on time to support production
- Work closely with quality and engineering to manage the flow of first article inspection requirements, traveler documentation, and non-conformance dispositions
- Communicate schedule status and delivery commitments to customers both directly and to other customer-facing employees
- Participate in daily production meetings and drive accountability to plan
- Maintain accurate data in the ERP system including work order status, routing steps, and capacity loading
- Support quoting and capacity analysis by providing lead time inputs and current shop load visibility
- Identify and recommend improvements to scheduling processes, lead time reduction, and workflow efficiency
Requirements
- 3+ years of production planning or scheduling experience in a CNC machining, aerospace, or defense manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of machining operations, inspection processes, and manufacturing flow in a job shop or low-volume, high-mix environment
- Experience working within an ERP system
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems and aerospace documentation requirements including travelers, certifications, and first article processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T at a working level
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear, direct communicator — comfortable raising issues early and working through them with the team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP reporting and scheduling tools preferred
- Experience with government contracts, ITAR-controlled programs, or defense customers
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in aerospace manufacturing! Your expertise will help shape efficient production processes that uphold the highest standards of quality while supporting innovative growth in the industry.

Aerospace Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a aerospace job in Dallas?
Dallas aerospace hiring centers on defense contracting around Irving and the DFW Airport corridor, MRO operations at major aviation hubs, and systems engineering firms in Las Colinas. Candidates with hands-on avionics, propulsion, or structures experience stand out most. Familiarity with FAA Part 145 repair station environments or DoD program work gives a genuine edge in this market over general aerospace credentials.
Which companies hire aerospaces in Dallas?
Employers hiring aerospaces in Dallas right now include Burns & McDonnell, BRPH, and AAA USA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Dallas draws a mix of large prime defense contractors, regional MRO operators, and aerospace systems suppliers clustered near DFW Airport and the Stemmons Freeway industrial zone.
Are there remote aerospace jobs in Dallas?
Yes, but only for specific functions. Hands-on roles like maintenance, manufacturing, and flight operations are almost always on-site, while systems engineering, program management, and technical writing positions are more frequently flexible. About 50% of aerospace openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the most remote work concentrated in software-integrated avionics and defense program coordination roles.
How can I get a aerospace job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through MRO line technician or quality inspection roles at airport-adjacent repair stations, where employers regularly hire candidates with an A&P certificate or relevant associate degrees over four-year graduates. Dallas Community College aviation programs feed directly into local hiring pipelines. Entry-level positions in production planning and supply chain at defense-adjacent manufacturers in Irving also offer a practical foothold without prior aerospace-specific experience.
Which industries hire the most aerospaces in Dallas?
Most aerospace openings in Dallas sit in Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Dallas's position as a major air travel hub and its long-established defense industry presence make aviation services and government contracting the two engines driving consistent local demand.
