AI Intern Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai intern in Minnesota?
AI intern roles in Minnesota do not require a state-issued license or credential. The typical path is enrollment in a computer science, data science, or related degree program at a Minnesota institution such as the University of Minnesota Twin Cities or Minnesota State University, combined with coursework in machine learning and statistics. Employers look for completed relevant coursework, personal or academic projects demonstrating model-building skills, and a portfolio that shows applied experience with real datasets.
Which companies hire ai interns in Minnesota?
Minnesota ai intern roles are posted by Graco, Loram, and Ecolab and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's large base of Fortune 500 companies in healthcare, financial services, and agribusiness drives consistent intern demand across sectors beyond core technology firms.
Which Minnesota cities have the most ai intern jobs?
Minneapolis, Eagan, and Minnesota have the most ai intern openings in Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro anchors the majority of listings due to the dense concentration of corporate headquarters, health technology companies, and financial services firms headquartered there, while Rochester's presence reflects the major research and analytics operations of employers with deep ties to that city.
Are there remote ai intern jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 80% of ai intern openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, collaborative nature of AI development work. The parts of the role most commonly offered remotely are data analysis, model prototyping, and literature review tasks, while onboarding and team project sprints tend to require some in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a ai intern in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured internship programs run by large Minnesota employers such as UnitedHealth Group, Target, or 3M, which recruit new students with limited professional backgrounds.
