San Diego's hiring base skews heavily toward hospitality groups, multi-unit restaurant operators, retail chains, and mixed-use property managers with a presence in neighborhoods from the Gaslamp Quarter to Carmel Valley.
Are there remote assistant general manager jobs in San Diego?
Yes, but only in a narrow slice of the role. Assistant general manager work is largely hands-on and location-dependent, so fully remote openings are uncommon. How can I get a assistant general manager job in San Diego with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Diego is working up through front-of-house or department supervisor roles at the city's hospitality and retail employers, particularly in hotel groups along Mission Bay or multi-unit restaurant brands based in UTC and downtown. Many San Diego operators promote from shift lead and assistant supervisor positions into assistant general manager tracks within one to two years when candidates demonstrate scheduling, inventory, and team accountability skills.
