Logistics Coordinator Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a logistics coordinator in California?
Most California employers expect a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or logistics, though an associate degree combined with relevant warehouse or operations experience can open doors at distribution-focused companies. California does not require a state-issued license for logistics coordinators, but earning a Certified Logistics Associate or Certified Supply Chain Professional credential strengthens candidacy. Large California distribution hubs, particularly in the Inland Empire and Los Angeles port corridor, regularly hire candidates who build experience through freight brokerage, warehouse supervision, or operations assistant roles.
How much do logistics coordinators make in California?
Logistics coordinators in California earn a median of about $57,690 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $38,430 for the lowest 10% to over $83,060 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire logistics coordinators in California?
Employers hiring logistics coordinators in California right now include Super Micro Computer, CEVA Logistics, and Clean Harbors, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's position as the entry point for a large share of U.S. imports means retailers, third-party logistics providers, and e-commerce fulfillment centers consistently maintain some of the highest logistics coordinator headcounts in the state.
Which California cities have the most logistics coordinator jobs?
San Jose, City of Industry, and Fontana have the most logistics coordinator openings in California. Los Angeles and the surrounding Inland Empire dominate because of the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the dense network of warehouses and distribution centers they support, while the Bay Area draws openings from technology supply chains and freight operations tied to Northern California manufacturing and retail.
Are there remote logistics coordinator jobs in California?
Yes, but they're rare. About 7% of logistics coordinator openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the hands-on, site-dependent nature of most coordination roles. The functions most likely to support remote work are administrative coordination, customer-facing order tracking, and freight documentation tasks that do not require physical presence at a dock or warehouse.
How can I get hired as a logistics coordinator in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in a warehouse associate, shipping clerk, or inventory control role at a California distribution center, then moving into coordination once you have demonstrated process knowledge. Large Inland Empire and Los Angeles-area employers run structured internal development programs that promote hourly warehouse staff into coordinator positions. Building proficiency with a transportation management system and earning a Certified Logistics Associate credential from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council gives candidates without a degree a measurable edge when applying to these openings.
Where can I find and apply to logistics coordinator jobs in California?
