Assistant Project Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a assistant project manager job in Jacksonville?
Focus on Jacksonville's busiest hiring sectors: construction and development along the Southside and Northside corridors, healthcare systems concentrated near downtown and the Beaches area, and defense and logistics contractors tied to Naval Station Mayport and Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Candidates who combine a PMP or CAPM credential with hands-on coordination experience stand out locally, as do those familiar with municipal permitting processes and the city's active commercial real estate pipeline.
Which companies hire assistant project managers in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring assistant project managers in Jacksonville include The Haskell Company, LJA, and EMCOR, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Jacksonville's market skews toward large construction and engineering firms, regional hospital networks, and federal contractors, all of which maintain ongoing project pipelines that require dedicated coordination support.
Are there remote assistant project manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role's core responsibilities, since hands-on construction and facilities positions require on-site presence while IT, financial services, and administrative project roles are far more remote-friendly. About 0% of assistant project manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. The most remote-compatible work in this market involves software implementation, back-office operations, and insurance or financial project coordination.
How can I get a assistant project manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through a coordinator or administrative project support role with one of the city's large construction firms or healthcare systems, where structured mentorship and internal promotions are common. Applying to project specialist or project administrator positions at employers tied to the city's growing logistics and port infrastructure also opens doors. A CAPM certification and demonstrated experience with scheduling tools like MS Project or Procore can make a candidate competitive even without years of direct PM history.
Which industries hire the most assistant project managers in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville assistant project manager roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Construction & Real Estate, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Jacksonville's status as a major port city, a hub for Navy and defense operations, and a fast-growing healthcare and financial services market keeps hiring across these sectors consistently active throughout the year.
