Mid Level Audiologist Jobs

Manages the day-to-day operations of the clinic independently. Assesses and treats patients with hearing and related disorders. Performs diagnostic audio logic testing for patients of all ages, VNG testing and interpretation, balance assessment, Dix-Hallpike and Epley maneuvers, hearing aid evaluation, fitting and troubleshooting as well as marketing for the audiology department.

Performs a variety of duties by:

• Administer audiograms for patients of all ages to collect information on type and degree of impairment, using specialized instruments and electronic equipment.
• Conducts comprehensive hearing evaluations including tymps, reflexes and OAE’s.
• Performs Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) screening and VNG testing.
• Demonstrates proficiency in hearing aid dispensing, counseling, selection, fitting and service for primarily adult/geriatric population.
• Maintain patient records at all stages, including initial and subsequent evaluation and treatment activities.
• Evaluate hearing and balance disorders to determine diagnoses and courses of treatment.
• Program and monitor cochlear implants to fit the needs of patients.
• Counsel and instruct patients and their families in techniques to improve hearing and communication related to hearing loss.
• Refer patients to additional medical or educational services if needed.
• Monitor patients' progress and provide ongoing observation of hearing or balance status.
• Educate and supervise audiology students and health care personnel.
• Instruct patients, parents, teachers, or employers in communication strategies to maximize effective receptive communication.
• Maintains aid sales and servicing.
• Manages the day-to-day operations of the clinic independently.

Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:

• Assist in business operations and clerical duties of hearing aid business. Maintains records, reports and files as required.
• Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
• Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department-specific education within established timeframes.
• Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
• Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout the fiscal year.
• Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
• Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect the patient and self.
• Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
• Comply with established organization and department policies.
• Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

  Education and Experience

  The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are acquired through the successful completion of a master's degree. Must be eligible for a license in Indiana. Three to five years of experience is preferred. Prior experience in an ENT setting is a plus.

  Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis and treatment.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other professionals as well as effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and vendors.
• Must be proficient with computer and conventional software packages as well as hearing aid programming software.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of patients.
