Mid Level Audit Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level audit manager job?
Position yourself around ownership, not just participation. Highlight audits you led from planning through reporting, any staff you supervised, and findings that drove real process changes. Tailor your resume to show increasing responsibility across audit cycles. Certifications like CPA or CIA strengthen your candidacy, and demonstrated experience with risk assessment frameworks signals readiness for this level.
Which companies hire mid level audit managers?
Companies hiring mid level audit managers right now include Goldman Sachs, Weaver, and TD, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from public accounting firms, large corporate internal audit functions, financial institutions, and regulated industries that maintain ongoing audit programs year-round.
Are there remote mid level audit manager jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by industry and employer. About 28% of mid level audit manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with internal audit roles at large enterprises more likely to offer flexibility than client-facing public accounting positions, which typically require on-site presence during fieldwork.
How do I move up to a mid level audit manager role?
The path runs through building depth on audit execution, then demonstrating you can own pieces of the work independently. That means progressing from assisting on engagements to leading fieldwork, taking responsibility for workpaper documentation, and producing findings that hold up to review. Earning a CPA or CIA and showing measurable impact, such as identified control gaps or efficiency improvements, typically marks the transition from staff to mid level.
Which industries hire the most mid level audit managers?
Mid Level audit manager roles concentrate in Accounting & Auditing, Banking & Financial Services, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring because they operate under significant regulatory scrutiny, maintain large internal audit functions, or require continuous assurance over financial reporting and operational controls.
