The Infrastructure Automation Team is seeking an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to help design, develop, and support enterprise automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reliability, security, and service delivery across the organization.
This role will partner closely with Server Operations, Network Operations, Application Services, Cybersecurity, Service Management, and Digital Engineering teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, operational processes, compliance activities, event driven remediation, and self service capabilities.
The ideal candidate has a strong infrastructure background in VMware, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, along with a passion for using automation to reduce manual effort, improve operational consistency, and accelerate service delivery. This position supports a vision of simplified, standardized, and automated solutions that enable secure, highly available, and scalable infrastructure services.Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain enterprise automation solutions using Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and related automation technologies.
- Design, develop, and support automation workflows for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, patching, compliance validation, application deployment, and operational support activities.
- Develop and support Event Driven Ansible solutions that automate operational tasks, incident response, and remediation activities.
- Automate administrative and operational processes across VMware, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Integrate automation solutions with enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, monitoring tools, application programming interfaces, web services, configuration management database platforms, and infrastructure management systems.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks, playbooks, roles, templates, and standards that improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage modern development tools and AI assisted engineering capabilities to improve code quality, accelerate automation development, reduce technical debt, and increase engineering productivity.
- Participate in the development and support of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines utilizing technologies such as Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and automated testing frameworks.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and collaborate with infrastructure teams to identify and resolve root causes.
- Participate in automation platform maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, standards, and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams using Agile methodologies to deliver automation solutions that improve business outcomes.
- Ensure automation solutions comply with cybersecurity, regulatory, audit, and corporate standards.
- Participate in incident response, problem management, and continuous improvement activities.
- Stay current on emerging automation and AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency. Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, infrastructure automation, DevOps, or related technical roles.
- Experience developing automation using Ansible Core, Open Source Ansible, or Ansible Automation Platform, including playbooks, roles, inventories, templates, and modules.
- Experience administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Experience administering and supporting Windows Server environments.
- Experience working within VMware vSphere and vCenter environments.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
- Experience using Git based source control systems.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure administration, operating systems, networking, and security fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
Preferred
- Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
- Experience with Event Driven Ansible.
- Experience automating VMware administration using Ansible, PowerCLI, application programming interfaces, or related automation tools.
- Experience integrating automation solutions with ServiceNow or other information technology service management platforms.
- Experience developing integrations using REST application programming interfaces, webhooks, and scripting.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with container technologies including Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, Grafana, or similar tools.
- Experience using AI assisted development tools such as Kiro, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon Q Developer, or similar technologies.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve software development productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and automation engineering workflows.
- Experience working in Agile product delivery environments.
- Relevant Red Hat, VMware, Microsoft, or automation certifications.
