Behavior Technician Jobs in Virginia Beach: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a behavior technician job in Virginia Beach?
ABA therapy practices, public and private K-12 schools, and pediatric outpatient clinics are the most active behavior technician employers in Virginia Beach. Jobs cluster in the Kempsville and Great Neck areas, with additional openings near the military family support programs tied to Naval Station Norfolk. Candidates with a current RBT credential, experience with discrete trial training, and availability for school-hour schedules have the clearest edge in this market.
Which companies hire behavior technicians in Virginia Beach?
Employers hiring behavior technicians in Virginia Beach right now include Amaze ABA, EzCare ABA, and Ivy Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Virginia Beach's hiring pool is a mix of regional ABA group practices, Virginia Beach City Public Schools, and private behavioral health clinics serving families connected to the area's large active-duty and veteran population.
Are there remote behavior technician jobs in Virginia Beach?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the role, since most behavior technician work requires direct, in-person contact with clients. About 0% of behavior technician openings tied to Virginia Beach are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions are typically limited to telehealth parent-training support or case coordination tasks rather than direct ABA session delivery.
How can I get a behavior technician job in Virginia Beach with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Virginia Beach is applying to ABA therapy practices as an entry-level behavior technician trainee while completing RBT coursework, since many local clinics hire and supervise candidates through the credentialing process. Virginia Beach City Public Schools also hire paraprofessionals who work alongside BCBAs in special education settings, which builds qualifying supervision hours. Strong availability for afternoon and weekend clinic slots is a consistent advantage with local employers.
