How do I get a business consultant job in Chicago?
Focus your search on Chicago's Loop and River North, where the largest concentration of consulting firms, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters operate. Healthcare systems on the Near North Side and tech-forward companies in Fulton Market also hire regularly. Candidates who demonstrate industry-specific expertise, familiarity with Chicago's major sectors, and a local professional network tend to stand out in a competitive market here.
Which companies hire business consultants in Chicago?

Yes, though availability depends heavily on the type of work: strategic and analytical roles tend to support remote arrangements, while engagements requiring on-site client presence in Chicago offices rarely do. About 93% of business consultant openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Project management and data analysis components of consulting roles are the most likely to offer flexible arrangements.
How can I get a business consultant job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is through analyst or associate roles at mid-size consulting firms in the Loop, many of which hire recent graduates and offer structured training. Chicago's large hospital networks and financial services companies also recruit entry-level business analysts who can grow into consulting functions.
